No, I haven't watched a single "Clone Wars" episode.
I want to check them out though, but I am not brave enough to purchase a whole season without ever having seen anything of it.
I am not entirely sure whether it's my cup of tea or not.
I have a friend who is a SW geek as well, and I think he has "The Clone Wars", so I'll try to catch an episode over at his place.
Another reason why I am reluctant to buy them on BD is the lossy audio.
I think it's unacceptable.

Of course, we all want the 2004 OT corrected, and I am quite certain that it's been done already, since we all know that the 2004 release was rushed.

Now is the time for SW to shine brightly! This is his golden opportunity to set things right, once and for all!
As long as you don´t think the EU is better than Lucas's vision (which I am not doubting to be honest ) you should enjoy The Clone Wars (2008 version). The 2nd season especially is really good. The lossy audio may be a disappointment (I don't have a lossless set right now so I can't judge how much you are missing with it) but the PQ really makes up for it.

I really enjoy The Clone Wars series, from the movie to the end of season three. It's at times fantastic but the writers keep trying to incorporate dialogue from the films into the series. It can be fun at times but at twenty odd minutes long there's little enough room for characterization as there is.

Their product is good enough to stand on it's own. I don't mind little visual winks to the fanbase but I hope they dial back the dialogue ones, especially when they're said by a different character. Star Wars characters don't really need a catchphrase.

Monolithium@

Thank you.

Aquel@

Never! I love George Lucas' babies, and have never cared for the EU.

dcowboy7@

Thanks, I just finished watching the whole episode (Wookie hunt), and while the worlds look good, I don't think this is for me.
I simply love the movies, and, don't laugh , the depth they have.

I see what you mean. I think it's pretty lame when they use lines from other movies too.

The one gag that made me chuckle is when those two birds are about the caught by a chameleon of some sort, but then they just lift its tail and throw it off the tree. Reminded me of the frog catching something with its long tongue outside Jabba's palace.

I spotted that frog type creature the other day (or something similar) I can't remember if it was in The Clone Wars or not. Ah just remembered it's in 365 next to the Contents page George Lucas is standing in front of the puppet.

Those little birds were fun. They were a bit like the birds from a PIXAR short.

On season 2 of disc 2 of Clone Wars in the special features on the Mandilorians they actually show part of Empire where Vader is talking to the bounty hunters and it looks frakkin incredible. If this is any indecation of whats to come, I will definetly be in heaven with these releases.

Indeed most of the special features of the clone wars film and seasons 1 and 2 have clips from all of the star wars films and if that is any indecation of whats to come, We will definetly be in heaven with these releases.

And it's Phantom Menace which I'm looking forward to the most on Blu-ray. The DVD is kinda shitty, always has been, and the prospect of seeing it all spruced up (with the digital Yoda redo) makes my midichlorians stand on end.
TPM has been treated horribly on DVD and even the HD broadcasts (hello edge enhancment). So, I am in complete agreement as it is the one PT film I am VERY much looking forward to seeing this fall. Sure I don't care for Jar Jar, but even with that minor annoyance (really it IS a minor issue) the film was a ton of fun. Out of all the PT films it is the one that is the most fun on repeat viewings.

Also TPM was the last film I stood in line for just to BUY tickets (before movietickets.com and fandago) and I remember doing the same thing with my Dad to see Jedi back in 83! Both had HUGE lines that wrapped around the theaters! So, a ton of memories (very fond ones) come back with that whole experience.

Honestly, I think the whole 'buying tickets' online thing kinda hurt the experience of ATOC and ROTS. Sure, it is easier to buy online but the 'fun' factor of standing in line for an hour or two and talking about Star Wars/the building excitment is gone. That is one huge advantage the OT will ALWAYS have over the prequel films. The great memories of going to the movies with your family and the rewarding feeling of actually securing tickets. Maybe I am just crazy though...lol...

The choices in the poll were hypothetical as it was made before anything was official. All we know that we're getting are the OT, the PT, and the complete saga.

One of my minor quibbles that doesn't really impact the movies for me has always been that Aunt Beru, Uncle Owen, Anakin Skywalker, and Obi-Wan Kenobi all appear to age about 40 years between ROTS and ANH. Isn't it only a 20-year gap?

19 year.

In short the in universe explanations:

Tatooine is a harsh climate and it shows, Anakin didn't really have a healthy lifestyle hating himself and not seeing sunlight for 23 years.

Though the gap should have been a bit longer to make it more plausible, though I don't consider it an issue.

Awesome! Looking good!

I'm looking forward to going on this ride. My wife and I are going to Disney World in November for our anniversary, and I am looking forward to checking out the new version.

While I will miss the old version, it was getting to be pretty dated. My wife and I went there when we first got married in 2006 and then again in 2009 (prior to that, I hadn't been there since 1993). And while it was cool to go on it again after all of those years, it really was showing it's age.

An updated version will be cool. Hopefully it won't be too packed and I'll be able to ride it several times. The earlier part of November (before Thanksgiving) is a pretty slow time of year there (at least based on our trip there in November of 2006), so hopefully it won't be too much of a problem.
