Yes, it's the Star Wars nerd in me, but so what?
The difference between Ewok and Evok is, that Ewok is fictional but Evok really exist.
Anyway, Evok or Ewok, all the same. Evok is not my favourite. I prefer Start Vader
Thank you for correcting!

Thanks, but I'll pass.

Wake me up when you come out with the three original 'unaltered' movies on Blu. Until then I'll stick with them on Laserdisc.
Well then, you go right ahead and savior those Laserdiscs in non-anamorphic 425i analog video of a pre-restored print of the OT then.

The rest of us who aren't so anal about the SE changes, will enjoy the Saga in glorious 1080p.

wtf are you being so defensive for? People can't say how they feel about the stupid SE's without some rabid fanboy throwing a temper tantrum or spouting off snide remarks. Never fails with you Human Lucas ATM Machines. You people could never be Jedi. You're all clearly Sith.

You have it backwards.

Fanboys with the "Lucas raped my childhood!"

The dark side I sense in you. Calm you must be. Anger, Fear, Hatred, the path to the dark side they are!

The original Star Wars was selected by the National Film Registry of the Library of Congress as a "culturally, historically, or aesthetically important" film. It would be nice to have the version they selected, i.e. not the SE, available on Blu-ray.

Star Wars was selected in 1989.

The SEs did not exist then, and if the selection was made now guess which version they'd get?

They'd get the one Uncle George wants to give them, same as the rest of us.

My point, however, is that the original version is a historically significant film, and people should be able to see it in its original form.

Personally, I don't mind the SEs, with maybe only one exception (Han not shooting first), but I'd also like to be able to see the versions of my youth in 1080p, too.

It always comes down to this arguement, doesn't it?

Money.

Why is it it that only George gets criticized for making money on his creation when every other studio does the same thing with their properties. I mean, many people criticized the Clone Wars series for the same reason..."Oh just another way for Luca$ to make money."

Really? I thought it was about telling more stories about what happened during the most talked about period in the Star Wars timeline: the Clone Wars.

What is so evil about making money?

Are you upset that George broke away from the major studios and formed his own enterprise with LucasArts, THX, and Industrial Light & Magic? He's a businessman, and that's what businessmen do. They make money, by providing a product or service that people enjoy.

But let's face it, the '97 SEs would have probably never been made if George wasn't planning on doing the PT just a few years later. He did it to try to bring them up to date to get them to look at least a little bit like what he was planning on doing in the PT. And quite frankly, I like the SEs. And yes, I'm old enough to have seen ANH in the theater in May '77.

I'm just wondering what you all would say if Spielberg would go back and digitally insert improved CG in the original 3 Indy films. eg. Last Crusade especially. And maybe even the opening of the Arc scene in Raiders. Would we be hearing "Steven raped my childhood?" or "$teven $pielberg just trying to Ca$h in."
