Someone hasn't seen the excellent movie Fanboys, I see.

6am PST which I think means 2pm in the UK but it wouldn't hurt to have a look at 1pm

So we're expecting the full details of the blu-ray set? Sounds good!

Yeah, you're right. PST is coming up for 2AM at the moment, so 4 hours to go which makes it 2PM GMT.

Ha, look at me mum, I'm doing Maths!

I didn't think of a kick a$$ trailer at all! That'd be freaking awesome!!!

I agree. By far!

The first is because, in the story, you have the Jedi Order pursuing absolute justice against the Sith, who question the very nature of right and wrong. Therefore, Kenobi comparing absolutes to the Sith seems very backwards for the overall narrative.

The second reason is a bit more personal, because it almost feels (at least to me) that Lucas was trying to make some kind of moral or political statement with that exchange. I mean, he has Anakin paraphrasing the words of Jesus ("if you're not with me, then you're my enemy"), followed by Obi-Wan's "absolutes" line, which almost makes it look like Lucas was comparing anyone who believes in absolute morals to the quivalents of the Sith!

So, that whole line really fails in two areas: narrative and real-world applicability.
I think it's great, and it's "absolutely" true! Love it!

In the original version of ROTJ, we see Sebastian Shaw as Anakin's aged force ghost with both of his natural legs intact. This could not be as Anakin lost those legs as a much younger man.
Once he turned to the darkside, the man that was once Anakin Skywalker died and became Darth Vader, who eventaully lost both his limbs and was turned into a cyborg with mechanical limbs.
It's better to have a younger Anakin pre-fall to the dark side at the end of ROTJ than the trunk of Sebastian Shaw.
Right, never thought of it this way, but then again, I have a life.
No offense to you. It's directed towards the people who criticize the change without thinking it through first.

The gungans loved palpatine. they were going to back him up and vote for him. they had his vote already when he saved naboo.

Naboo was not only represented by the queen..the gungans now represented half the planet.
Huh? Did I miss something? When did you last watch TPM? In '99??

They didn't throw HIM a big parade, and he wasn't a hero at all, as he didn't do ANYTHING to help Naboo. They were celebrating their victory, which had brought the 2 societies together.

Jar Jar was just easily brainwashed by the other politicians around him.

he showed up at the last minute..he's behind amidala and boss nass..and he's a politician..he took the credit for their freedom obviously. He was admired.

look at this clip. Yes anakin blew up the Trade federation droid ship. But didn't you watch ATOC? Palpatine had to be admired by the naboo people first for making chancellor and secondly for saving them from the TF.

I'm heading off to snooze for a little while. I hope to awake to learn...
  • The Complete Saga boxset will use the Alien Anthology design
  • The UOT will be released sometime next year in individual digibooks.
  • Extras will include demo scenes from an unscheduled Indy release tentatively slated for next year (maybe some 3D teasers too though that's of zero interest to me at this point) and perhaps a lengthy American Grafitti trailer
  • A poster who shall remain nameless was given a short vacation at 6:17 after starting his sixth 'What's Your Favorite Part of the Announcement' thread
  • The Blackhawks are still not in the NHL playoffs

Night all...

I just hope that when they say, "All will be revealed" it's not just the design of the set and the specifications. Who cares what the box looks like anyway?
