Holy Crap!! The Same guy was whining about that in all those posts??!! Talk about EPIC !!

"Some" actors/actresses do those tracks, but not many. It'd be cool I suppose, but in the long run, What-Ever. We get the filmmakers commentary, the technical guys/sound guys, etc., which is usually enough for most people.

Blecchhh! Do NOT like the cover for the complete saga. The last thing I think of when I think of Star Wars as whole is "little kid" Anakin >__<

Not a fan of the separate trilogy covers either (they seem kind of "busy") but they're better than the complete saga set.

Oohh welll =/

Question

Any idea on if the original special features for the prequel dvds will be included? The disc that has the 1-3 archive could possibly have some. I just hope these are included. Especially the music video for Duel of the Fates.

All of those cover arts look terrible. I was very on the fence since I want to see the original unedited versions of the Original Trilogy but also wanted features... but that artwork is so bad!
I wish they could've done something more minimalist and in the style of Fox's Alien Anthology or Avatar releases. They had beautiful packaging, but each of those artworks stench of failed potential.

They should've tried to commission Olly Moss to design artwork for the set. Hopefully, they'll do that in a few years when Lucasfilm releases a double-dip set that includes the original theatrical cuts for the pickier fans like me.

I still am a bit tempted by those hours of special features though... if they change that artwork, I'll reconsider the Complete Saga set. But using a pastel image of Anakin in Phantom Menace was a terrible choice. The image just isn't iconic enough to sell the film to people. They should've just tacked on a mugshot of Vader and it would've been an instant purchase.

I'm sure one day we will get the UOT but for now I'm just gonna enjoy what we are getting
While I agree that him donating such a huge portion of his fortune to charity is a really, really nice thing, that really has nothing to do with the UOT issue. These are two completely separate, unrelated things.

Him donating his money to charity doesn't make him being so belligerent about the UOT any more or less "okay" than it would be if he had kept all of that money for himself.

These are two unrelated decisions on his part, and should be judged separately. One decision was not dependent on the other happening. So it is asinine to say that people shouldn't bash his decisions on how the films are released based on his charitable donations.

I'm surprised to see such polarised opinions on the cover art. I for one, think it's brilliant.

I love the covers for the individual trilogies, but the Complete Saga one is just plain odd. It doesn't really 'sell' the thing, does it?

I'd say that young Anakin on the forefront makes sense - he is the most important character in the series and that is him young, innocent, untainted by the dark side. Young Anakin is the "true form" of the chosen one and in ROTJ when he killed the Emperor you see some of the innocence and good that you could see in young Anakin in TPM. Luke is the ghost, the shadow that was chasing, haunting if you will Vader in order to get his father back. Tatooine also makes sense as it is the only location that connects the Prequels and the Originals, Luke and Anakin.

Since when has Star Wars needed a marketing gimmick to "sell" itself?

Just because you can sell it with anything for a cover doesn't mean you should.

I find this statement so ironic considering this whole day was nothing but a marketing gimmick, what with the whole FORCING people to share the announcement on Facebook and Twitter.

The image used for the cover is nice as stand alone Star Wars inspired art, but it doesn't really fit with the tone of the films. Don't get me wrong. It is a million times better than the horrid photoshop job done on the DVDs, but it still feels like a miss. The pastel color scheme mixed with the art style just doesn't vibe with the product it represents, IMO.

Lots of people on here love the box art. Star Wars has such a huge fan base that it's almost impossible to make them all happy.

Just because you or anyone feel it's crap doesn't make it so.

Good point, and just because you like it doesn't make it good.

Well, my main complaint about the separate "trilogy" designs is that both are far too crowded. I like the idea of having Yoda and Vader featured prominently on each one, but all the scenes being integrated doesn't really work. The whole "collage" motif just seems like Lucas' marketing guys are trying too hard. There's far too much information being presented at once, and in my opinion each of those designs just sends things into an artistic chaos. As for the "saga" cover, I feel there's a nice idea behind it, but making it look like a painting just feels "cheap" to me. I mean, the Tatooine sky looked awesome in the prequels; you'd think they'd do something like that for the artwork.

Interesting points, Moviefan2k4.

AT the end of the day though, I think for most of us it's all about whats inside that counts as apposed to what the boxes actually look like. I'd be extremely pistoff if they spent more time and money doing surveys and design time on the box art then video and audio treatment.

How often do most of us sit down and watch the box art anyway?
