The two seprate trilogies will be 4 disc.

I wish they added something about Star Tours for the Blu-Ray release, a small documentary on the history, and the upgrade would have been nice.

what about all the specials they do before the movies are released that were on channels like Fox? any word if those are going to be included? I know Lucas doesn't own them but it is all Fox in the end - I am sure some deal can be made. Would be kind of interesting to see and hear again what they were promoting for the new trilogy and the special editions before they actually got released.

The one they really need to get for this set is the Muppet Show episode they did. Yeah you can buy it separate but, like the Looney Tunes short they put with Casablanca, it needs to be there. I just love everyone going "who is your tailor?"

We already know that from Greedo's scene

Again, we've seen that from Greedo's scene.

And yet the first thing he wants to do when he's on Yavin, is getting his money so he can pay back Jabba. True, he changes his mind later, but still. And he also wants to leave at the beginning of Empire to pay Jabba back. And Jabba still has him frozen in carbonite at the beginning of Jedi. Truly the mark of two friends, I reckon.

Okay, and what's the need of that? We know from Greedo's dialog that Jabba's powerful, and there's no need to see his crew. Even in the scene they're redundant, especially Boba Fett, who is close to taking his helmet off and winking to the audience.

Again, not needed. The way it works in the original version is that you get this great build up of two movies of what Jabba is, and the pay-off being this immense, fat slug is excellent. How can Jabba be a threat when Han pushes him around and even steps on his tail?

Kubrickfan ~ these are all the reasons I took this scene back out of my fanedit of ANH

This year's San Diego comic-con will have more details on the bluray (source: starwars.com).

I'm hoping for a "and one more thing..." type announcement, Apple style (when they were still original) shedding light on an actual "ultimate" box set, including the UOT's. HEHEHE

[Show spoiler]
(i cant believe we've been talking about it for this long already)

Any way, in actual Star Wars Blu Ray news... it has been confirmed that the Blu Rays will contain DTS-HD Master Audio 6.1. Score one for actual specs on the films! Now if only we could get some information on the transfer being used for the Blu Ray and what kind of restoration work went into it.

Also, the covers will NOT be lenticular.

Lenticular covers can have two or more different views as you move the cover or your eyes across them. So a Lenticular cover for Episode III for example, could have had Anakin dissolving into Darth Vader.

When I was a kid, bubble gum would frequently come with a little lenticular comic that would have a few animated views.

Yeah it's interesting that it still doesn't mention anything about new transfers being struck for these discs, since that's something else many people have been concerned about as well.

I wonder... according to that "secret history of star wars" article, if the 2004 alterations were done with the digital master that was used for the DVD release, wouldn't that mean that he would HAVE to use the same master, or else he would have to redo all the changes again? If that is the case, the best we can hope for is that they are color corrected.

For those of you wondering about which audio DTS Audio will be used for the blu-ray box set DTS Lossy or DTS HD Master Audio. I have an answer on DTS's facebook and twitter pages they have confermed it will be DTS HD Master Audio 6.1.

I figured it was this because Lucas would be an absolute moron to include lossy DTS tracks.
