Luke probably never heard of midichlorians in the OT because that storyline and idea didn't exist back then, not coming about until he wrote Episode I.
Yeah, Lucas also explained that his foundation for the prequels, prior to starting the "Phantom Menace" script in 1994, only existed in the form of a 10 - 15 page treatment he'd written in 1973. Of those few pages, the only definitive thing was that Anakin fought Obi-Wan, and got himself burned alive inside a volcano. In the end, that idea was expanded to the notion of a volcanic planet, and Lucas wrote the rest of the prequels as ideas came to him. He said that, contrary to popular belief, most of the political stuff was not intended as present-day social commentary, but rather was sourced from various events surrounding the Vietnam War. Of the whole saga, I think the two biggest objections I have are putting Leia in the "slave girl" outfit, and Obi-Wan's "absolutes" line to Vader.

I might actually just purchase the original trilogy set...though I prefer the artwork on the ultimate box.

the individual trilogies have super epic hardcore badass covers.. wtf's wrong with the complete saga y'all?
if i get the 2 of them separately then i don't get the extras, if i get the whole box then i'm left with the sorryass, a-2-year-old-kid-thought-of-it cover that looks like sheeit.
it's a big star wars dilemma....

The best Star Wars Saga cover is over at Rixgraphix....1 cover to rule them all. I hope he converts with the Blu Ray logo.

A little "plain", but not bad.

Count me in as one of those who likes the official cover art.

Plain? The Complete Saga? Did you download it and take a close look at it? The texture? From what I understand that was a very difficult cover to create.....just sayin.

Looks pretty crappy to me. I'll stick with the official art.

The covers are kick ass!! Ami the only one who thinks the separate trilogy covers look like the official ones and the official one look fan made?

Since we don't have much to talk about, let's try to find(or if you have the time, make) custom covers and post them here.

Btw, how come the number of pages have reduced? Have the mods or users deleted any posts?

Since I know the official artwork is not from just a fan, but an idea from one of the primary writers, I have to disagree.

You mean the cover that is totally inaccurate on Luke's boots behind Anakin? Not even taking into account the Monet Vanilla Sky color scheme.

Despite the Jedi Council being slightly underdeveloped as characters in the films, the Order 66 sequence did almost bring tears to my eyes and still gives me goosebumps to this day. It is really the ultimate betrayal in every sense of the word. For those of you who have ever been in combat, you know that you bond with your platoon and know things about them that even their own parents don't know. Here the Jedi have been fighting alongside the clones for three years, facing life or death situations, and in an instant that was all over. The look of betrayal on Ki-Adi-Mundi's face was especially heart breaking, as was Yoda dropping his cane and grabbing his heart. Truly one of the best scenes of all six films, in my opinion.

What are some of your favorite scenes?

Not sure I understand...how do you know the artwork is from a "primary" writer and even if it were what does that matter? Most studio art is garbage anyway. There are several quality fan artists that have created masterpieces. Are you familiar with the really good cover sites?

The beginning scenes of The Phantom Meance. Never had we seen a lightsaber used to melt a door before. Absolutely badass. I also love the whole look of the battle droids and the inside of the Trade Federation ships.

My posts always seem to get the chop and I write some of the best unrelated rubbish here! I also think that 20 pages of people counting down to the May 4th may have been skimmed down....

I must agree with the beginning of The Phantom Menace that was Star Wars magic at it's best it was hard for the rest of the prequels to keep that level up. And then someone came in and stuck a birdsnest on Obi-Wans head and it all went downhill.

Are we certain that the prequel and the original trilogy sets only have three discs and not four? I would have thought the Saga set would have only one bonus disc (the 9th) not three.
