Extended Jango is visible partially in the first couple trailers for AOTC. He starts shooting at Obi-wan with one blaster... which Obi-wan easily deflects at least 2 or 3 shots as he closes the rather large distance between the door and the ship. THEN Jango pulls out the second blaster, which Obi-wan has more trouble with. In the theatrical cut, Jango tells Boba to get on board and it cuts to him pulling the second blaster and Obi-wan closed that huge distance entirely off camera in one angle cut.

Mace was on the script IIRC, but I'm not sure if it was actually filmed or not. IIRC the monster sits on Mace's lightsaber, and plays hide and seek with Jango, but it might not have ever been filmed.

I actually liked how Mace quickly put down Jango. I thought that was one of the best parts of AotC. No messing around. Jango had no chance, which against a Jedi is how it should be.

If you watch really close, you see the puff from Jango's jetpack as, right before that backhand swing that decaps him, he was trying to take off (just like he did earlier in the movie against Obi-wan), but it was damaged when he got trampled by the beast...

Would be unnecessary additions which is the issue with most of the deleted scenes being added back into any of the Star Wars films (outside of Revenge of the Sith). First it ruins pacing and second they are redundant thus the reason they were deleted in the first place.

Luke being shown buliding his lightsaber is unnecessary and sort of downplays the thrill of seeing it ignited for the first time in the Sarlacc battle. Second, Vader trying to communicate with Luke was done at the end of Empire. Why cover the same terroritory again? I hope they don't add any deleted scenes back into any of the movies as they really are pointless (with the exception of the first meeting of the rebellion in Sith).

Another example is Luke's discussion with Biggs (Biggs joining the rebellion) at the beginning of ANH. Not needed. We get the idea Luke wants off the planet numerous times with his discussions with his uncle. Not to mention how he gets excited to hear about how Threepio and R2 were in service of the Rebellion and his later statement of: "I don't like the Empire, I hate it." in Obi Wan's hut. Don't get me started on the Jabba scene...

While the deleted scenes are interesting to see, they should stay just that, deleted. They typically add NOTHING to the plot.

Right there with you on that one! Not to mention his ex wife won an academy award for editing. There is no way that ANH could be improved.

Oh my God, sorry but please don't call me a liar, please get your facts first. And I know what anamorphic is, I know a lot about home video/theaters.

Please refer to my subsequent post;

Ah. Figured as much. I wonder if Cameron knows about it: in prep for the DVD version of The Abyss he rejected a new (inferior to him) anamorphic transfer and went with the THX certified 4x3 LD master. Is your version of True Lies THX like the letterboxed 4x3 Region 1 DVD? Note that Aliens and Avatar on BD are THX as well.

Well, fortunately I have on my DVR a 1080i/DD 5.1/OAR version of True Lies so that will do until they release the BD. I just hope my DVR doesn't die meantime.

PS: The real life subplot of a secret child of Arnie's makes the title all too real

Yeah, people missed this in the theatrical release. That's why the sparking and stalled blast were augmented for the DVD.

While I agree with what you've said, I think that's one of those scenes that I'm kind of glad didn't end up in the movie. While it does let us get to know Biggs a little bit better, not showing it makes it seem like all of Luke's friends are gone and have been gone for a long time (maybe a few years), which makes him seem more trapped and alone.

George is going to be at the Grand opening celebration at 10:15. I believe you can view it on the web.

I rode it a total of 5 times before I left.

I left 3-4 days before they started with the soft opening

I'm going back this January, but I'm sure the line to get on will be HUGE.

You know how they tout how many different places you can go and how different it will be every time? I went on 5 times and got Naboo EVERY...SINGLE...TIME... lol
I was so pissed. And 3 of the 5 times I got Tatooine.

Well, for episode 1 it's a foregone conclusion -- the puppet will be replaced.

But as far as 4 and 5 are concerned, I agree with the previous comment: Yoda must not be tampered with. He looked great in the theatre; he'll look great in HD.

@Uxi

Extended Jango vs Obi Wan and Jango vs Mace? Didn't even know those were filmed :O
true, so true. hey, whatever happened to Lucas' plan to put all the scenes on-line so people who wanted to do fan edits could use them and have access to all the scenes? that would end a lot of the complains about the versions.

the only deleted scene(s) that i am really wondering about are the original ones from Sith where the jedi go to arrest the emperor (well, soon to be emperor). That was originally filmed with Anakin there and while a few pics from that were leaked, i don't think any of the footage was. I would like to see that myself to see how it played out but i don't know if that will be released as it is such a huge alternate scene/idea. i get the feeling we are not going to see stuff like that. Other deleted scenes will be great but that one was a huge change so i am really interested in it.

Didn't Lucas mention he wasn't going to touch Yoda in Ep. V + VI? At least I think I saw a post by someone about it (somewhere in this topc, I don't have a life to spare to search for it )

I don't think he would mess with either of those. It would be an expensive move to replace Yoda in Empire (that is a good chunk of the movie) and I also think he does hear some of complaints about messing with the OT (thus why the Greedo thing was sorta fixed and he has replaced Jabba a few times). So, I think any major changes like that in any of the OT are rather unlikely.

Replacing puppet Yoda in The Phantome Menace is going to be a big job especially when he's in shot with a prop and not in front of bluescreen or greenscreen. I don't envy the job (well I do really) of the guys who have to remove and replace all those loose hairs from Yoda's head....

PDVD_005.jpg

I wonder if they'll replace episode one's CGI Yoda as well? He looked pretty good from a distance....

Which is why they would probably just recreate the background plate digitally rather than fooling around with all that.
