So letīs try to get this thread back on track. Do you think Lucas adds a shot of Count Dooku at Qui-Gons funeral in Episode I? I think it would make sense. After all he was Qui-Gonīs master and left the order after his and Maulīs death.

Hmm, Dooku at Qui Gon's funeral. That would be cool if they could do some deageing to him (sort of Tron Legacy Jeff Bridges style) for the ten year difference.

I think Dooku would stand outside the temple at the funeral, grieving all by himself... Maybe he could stand at the door with a stern face. They could use some frames from "Attack of the Clones"-material just for glimpse.

Count Dooku is awesome. Christopher Lee was perfect for that role. I would be fine with adding him into TPM but only if it's a subtle thing, almost like something that not everyone would notice.

I like the sound of that. God, if only Lucas had actually THOUGHT ABOUT THIS STUFF AHEAD OF TIME. There's no through-line with any villain in the prequels - at least one that's actually known to the protagonists, before anyone mentions Palpatine - and the stories feel very disjointed as a result. There's none of the propulsive story-telling of the OT.

Lucas would argue that he didn't want any bad-ass prequel villains stealing Vader's OT thunder (which is why Grievous is such a bee-yotch In Sith) and I applaud him for using the villains as thematic devices which foreshadow Vader (when good Jedi go bad, part-robot-part-organic etc), but it doesn't quite work.

Add something with/about Dooku to Phantom Menace and I'll be a very happy bunny (hell, restoring the 'Lost 20' scene to Clones would provide some much needed back story as well). Same goes for Grievous in Clones, perhaps have him hiding in the shadows on Geonosis or whatever.

Thanks for the response! Looks like we might actually get into a real (not meta) discussion about the movies themselves and their release on BD. Yay!

I always liked that "Lost 20" concept... I donīt know if any of that was filmed. Do you?

Pretty sure it was, as it was only a few lines with Obi-Wan and Jocasta Nu in the Jedi archives. But who needs that pesky back story stuff, eh?

In earlier drafts of the "Attack of the Clones" script the "Lost 20" are mentioned as the Jedi Masters who voluntarily left the Jedi Order over ideological differences. Dooku was one of them.

"Only twenty Jedi have ever left the Order."
"The Lost Twenty. And Count Dooku was the most recent and the most painful. No one likes to talk about it. His leaving was a great loss to the Order."

How many times did you see the PT in the theater?

Then in 2002 "Attack Of The Clones" just blew me away. It is to date my favorite Star Wars Movie. "Revenge Of The Sith" was a very emotional experience. I just have to hear a few notes of the haunting score and I'm almost in tears. The Prequels are classic movies in their own right. Some fans rave about how great it was to see the Original in 77. I bet it was - but experiencing the Prequel-Trilogy take form 12 years ago was just as great.
We are SO on the same page. AOTC completely blew me away, and it was the most incredible cinema experience so far. I couldn't even get up afterward. Same feelings about ROTS. I tear up just thinking about the final confrontation between Anakin and Obi Wan.

CANNOT WAIT TO SEE THEM ON BD!!!!

Btw., I saw TPM 15 times in the theater. 6 times on opening day alone.

Star Wars does not belong to one generation!
Oh yeah!

Sounds interesting. Has George ever mentioned it?

Thumbs up 365 Days of Star Wars by John Knoll!

Btw., I am reading 365 Days Of Star Wars by John Knoll, and I absolutely love it!

It's the best behind the scenes book on SW I have ever held in my hands!

If you love SW, in any shape or form, don't hesitate and get this book immediately, as it describes the making of
the UOT,
the SE, and
the PT

The size of this book boggled my mind!

I learned so much about SW, and about many deleted scenes, and what ILM did on the Prequels is simply genius!!!!

Only a few more months to go, and we can finally see the SW Saga in all its breathtaking glory!!!

It will be a day long remembered!!!

Hereīs a short video showing footage from the newly opened Star Tours 2 3D-ride at Disneyland. Maybe some of the work which has been done here finds itīs way into the final editions of Star Wars on Blu-Ray. I especially like the droids flying around the uncompleted Death Star 2 and the Battle of Hoth.

Vintage documentaries I could care less about... having the option of seeing the original historically significant films restored to their original glory would go a long way in making everyone happy (aside from petty fanboys). If Lucas released the UOT, then he could easily do a Special Edition with as many updates and changes as he likes and I guarantee you that no one would complain because they had the CHOICE of seeing them in their original incarnation. I prefer the Special Edition of Aliens but I am sure as heck happy the original version was released alongside it.
I do not think anyone has said that they would not want the UOT released.

I am like you. I like the UOT, SE and PT.

In fact my guess it will be out in a special boxed set someday. But from a business perspective he does not want too many choices competing with one another and he knows if he releases the UOT as a separate package later on he will probably make more money. Should he choose to do that.

Umm I think you have not been following this thread then. There are a hadful of frequent posters who do not want the UOT released period! Why? Because they feel it will mess up the entire saga or at least thats the excuse they use.
