If I remember correctly, it is on the feature called "Within a Minute."

Default Star Wars Re-releases

This is for all the complainers regarding the re-releasing of Star Wars on different formats. Here is a link for the "Pirates" 4 movie boxset. Aside from the new film, this makes this the 5th time (if I remember correctly) that these films have been released on blu ray.

Have we determined whether the Original Trilogy and Prequel Trilogy products have 3 or 4 discs yet? Websites are telling me different things

Finally some details of the star wars saga blu-ray panel. From starwars.com : Join the Band of Rebels and Get a First Look at the Star Wars Saga on Blu-ray -- For the first time, witness some of the exciting features from the more than 40 hours of bonus material on the upcoming Star Wars: The Complete Saga Blu-ray and experience one of the Saga's most iconic moments from a unique, in-universe vantage point. This and additional surprises along the way can be found at booth #3528. It's great to have some details of the blu-ray panel at comic con. What do you all think of this news?

I don't mean the glossy surface, just the packaging style. I don't have any problem getting the discs out though, but maybe that's just me. We know for sure it'll be book-like, I'm hoping for actual digibook like the The Clone Wars: Season 1 but if I'm to choose between Avatar ECE or Alien Anthology style, I choose the former.

I don't know about that, but it was covered in the making of book. Didn't feel like a joke to me.

Spielberg spent a day with the pre-viz guys coming up with cool shots for the duel. They only used a few of them. (I think it was an exercise, a warmup for War of the Worlds)

I'd rather get an whole wack of new stuff rather than having them hang on to the same old documentaries year after year.

Empire of Dreams is fantastic, but I've seen it several times anyways, I don't think I'd watch it right off the bat if they included it anyways... I'd want to check out the new stuff first.

THX-1138 is correct. It's covered in the ROTS extras as well.

Occasionally the special effects artists would try to explain to Lucas this his desired effect would be to complicated or troublesome to achieve. Instead of forcing them ("this is my movie and that's how the shot will look!") he would say that it was Steven's idea, or Steven agreed or whatnot and the SFX team wouldn't argue.

As to the question about bonus features, I got this feeling that we don't know everything that's going to be on the 9th disc. The content that has been announced sounds fairly lackluster, so I wouldn't be surprised to hear more come SDCC.

I wouldn't do that. I wouldn't spend the same amount of money and cheat yourself out of three discs. While Disc 9 is weak and very disappointing to me, it still has 4 good features and Discs 7 and 8 may turn out pretty well. I hate this packaging too. I wish they had went with a different style. Practicality is number one for me. Packaging similar to the LOTR EE sets or even something simplistic like the Star Trek film Blu-rays would have suited me fine.

If it concerns you, pick up the saga set and then order some of these, in whatever combination you want:

http://www.sleevetown.com/blu-ray-hd-dvd-case.shtml

This site has even more disc combinations:

http://www.usplastic.com/catalog/item.aspx?itemid=66002

If I swapped out the cases, I'd probably go with a "six" and a "triple" or three "triples". Download or create some custom artwork and you won't have to worry about it.

On the other hand, while I hate the cardboard slots, I've been fortunate and my Alien set has remained unscathed.

I can see the packaging for the complete saga going the same road as the Alien anthology set.

A lot of Americans imported the UK set not only because it cost about half the price compared to the US set but becuse it wouldn't scrtch the discs.

it is the same... pictures have been posted already.

I'm not happy about it either, I suffered 2 scuffed discs from the Alien set (not as bad as I was expecting though, just a bit around the edges, but that's only from taking them out a single time before putting them into cases)

I can't be bothered to import

I'd like a lot of new stuff too. Hopefully, discs 7 and 8 give that to us. Other than the three classic docs and the new 25-minute ESB doc, I'm still in disbelief when I look at the list of material on Disc 9. Underwhelming, to put it mildly, and it makes me think "who chose this stuff"?

On the other hand, Blu-ray, with its incredible capacity for SD material, makes a great archival format. The past extras from the VHS, LD, and DVD sets were all standard definition, to the best of my knowledge. I like the idea of being able to put those old sets, and my dvd-r's, in the past and have everything on today's format. Some of the old extras never made it past LD. I personally think that Blu-ray is going to be the final "physical" format. I don't like that idea but I believe it.

They could have put "Empire of Dreams" and "From Star Wars to Jedi" on Disc 9 instead of nearly four hours of Spoofs, a 501st doc, and a weak History Channel doc. The past extras from the "Definitive Collection" LD set, the Faces LD/VHS set, the '97 SE LD set, the '04 OT DVD set, and the three prequel bonus DVD's would have fit on a BD-50.

There is a load of other documentaries that could have went on another disc too. I think the main problem is that there weren't enough discs in this set, when you consider that there are six films and a wealth of past material that should have been carried over.

I just hope it turns out to be more like the Clone Wars packaging. I'm debating on whether to write Fox or SW.com to express my concerns. Not that I expect a result, but it's better than nothing at this point. Importing the UK set isn't an option either, not that I mind importing, I just hate their gawd aweful ratings logo on their packaging.
