The US edition would be 7 euro cheaper though I'd have to wait longer and I am not sure if the movies are region free. Choices, choices
Remember, they remove VAT when you order. it's less than 7 euros.

Ok thanks. I already found it a bit odd. With VAT it is almost the same amount as with the UK set. Oh well guess we'll have to wait until they will be clear about what is going to be in the US booklet (and if this is available in the UK set).

Have to say I'm pleased with the info I'm seeing as of late. Film cell with the UK set, good looking bonus section (looking like the Clone Wars boxsets extras), apparently improved PQ (as in less black crush, although this is of course not confirmed) and the deleted scenes with the Wampa Echo Base attack plus a Bunker attack (didn't even know that one existed )

apparently the black crush issue is history:

The only thing I´m a little concerned about is that there are no indications that further digital enhancements have been made at this point. I mean, I really hope they redid Jabba´s musical number or corrected Obi-Wan braid, updated textures, corrected sabers etc ...
The Death Star plans below that picture have been slightly altered..or am I not remembering correctly?

Hopefully that's an indication of a much needed change to ANH.

HOPEFULLY! I love watching ANH with my dad and having him just laugh at that scene and always say how bad the graphics look on it. He grew up with SW and saw this in the theatres in 1977 so he's been there.

The briefing room graphics have a great behind the scenes story to them, and are iconic in terms of computer graphics in film and in the movie itself:

However.... I would be all for their change. They are one of the few holograms that really look dated and out of place. The ROTJ briefing room hologram is far superior and takes place in the same era. Makes the ANH graphics look very poor.

Clearly Lucas feels otherwise. Honestly I'm shocked this change wasn't made some time ago.

I am pretty certain it was scheduling conflicts with Batman. W/e but yeah it was definitely planned to have him as a force ghost though.

I'm pretty sure that's just a graphic that's part of the pop up menu.

I'd love that, but doesn't look like it. See below!

...it looks like a mock up of the Yavin 4 base with the actual movie playing on a tv screen attached. isn't this from comic con, you should expect nothing less.

And it's not that drasticly different from the movie, anyway.

Exciting to see some actual footage. I wish we´d get something in good quality ... a trailer in 1080p maybe. I´m a little disappointed the pingpong-table shots with the tiny explosions are obviously still in the actual movie. Looks like the enhancement don´t go very far, sadly.

On the other hand I always loved the movies and some questionable effects won´t distract me from enjoying the most brilliant saga ever made on Blu-Ray.
Picture quality looks really good as far as one can tell from the video, I think.

I think I'm going to get all versions of these BD's. That includes the separate trilogies and the combined set. I'm crazy....in love with SW.

Question, and I figured this would be the perfect place to ask since you guys know what you're talking about :

Is it true that the transfers are from the 2004 DVDs, instead of all new transfers? Does that mean the quality will be severely lacking?

Sorry if this has been talked about, but it's hard to keep up with threads like these.

You can't use this footage to judge the quality of the transfer, because the contrast is completely off.

To prove this, compare 00:46 on that video (the focus on Vader, "Stay on the leader") to 1:23 of this video:

The second video is a sample from the Blu-ray, and therefore presents Vaders cockpit how it will roughly look.
