It was to Lucas as well (at the time).

I would watch the movies in chronological order too, obviously... 1 - 6! You're right... It's much more powerful that way and you get a grasp on the epic narrative structure of the piece!

I still hope that the digital yoda will be in episode 1 and not the puppet yoda. Why it has been confirmed yet to be included in episode 1 TPM for the blu-ray release is very puzzling.

No specific changes to any of the movies have been confirmed yet. It makes no more or less sense for this one to be confirmed compared to any other.

Which is part of what ruins things for me. I thought knowing about Vader's history would have been awesome, but it turns out it wasn't. My imagination was way more powerful than what was ultimately offered.

Same with Boba Fett. The fact that he was an enigma was half of his appeal. Now he's just another minor character to me.

The prequels really robbed the saga of much of it's power.

For me it was the exact opposite.
I don't think anyone can understand SW without the prequels.

Before 1-3, we only knew Darth Vader. Now we know Anakin (flaws and all). I also think the Clone wars cartoon helps.

When I was a kid, I wanted Luke to kill Vader, since Vader was so evil. Now I know there really is/was good in him.
The story makes so much more sense after seeing 1-3.

I love SW!!!

Original trilogy drops to $40, while the complete saga remains at $90? An extra $50 for 1-3? Not sure there's any way I can justify that to myself, George.

Speak for yourself.

When I was a kid (the prequels didn't exist at that time) I always wanted that Luke saves Vader. It was his father and it was clear for me, why he felt that he must save him.
You don't have to see prequels to understand the redemption of Darth Vader. Actually, I think that prequels destroyed this whole thing, because we never saw that Anakin was actually good. He was evil from the start (I mean, from EPII, because I'm speaking about an adult person). He only cared for Padme the whole time. Not for the Jedi or Obi-Wan. During EPII, I always got the impression, that he hated Obi-Wan, because he took Qui-Gon Jinn's place. Sadly, when it comes to Anakins character, I must agree with prequels-haters - he has no character. There are some good things about the prequels (visuals, Palpatine's secret plan), but when it comes to the characters, it is almost impossible to connect with anyone. Well, actually there was one person, I thought I was able to connect with - Sidious. I just wanted that he kills that whole Jedi order, because everyone was such a jerk, god.

It's not just 1-3.

It is also the additional 3 discs of special features that you get also when you buy the Complete Saga.

He may not read it but there are people that he works with that does.
He knows everyone is at the edge of their seat waiting to find out if these will be fixed for the blu release.

And he is enjoying every minute of it.

I agree. 1-3 were not good. But they succeed in helping me enjoy 4-6 a lot more!!!!

Well 3 was tolerable.
