Amazon UK now has the 35mm 'freebie' offer. Hasn't really affected my purchase, but just thought i'd give everyone a heads up.

From what we have heard the scenes are 'supposed' to just be deleted and stay on the bonus disc. However, this IS George Lucas....

No, they won't be incorporated. George Lucas made a concious decision to delete those scenes for the sake of the flow of the movies. It has already been confirmed by the german movie-rating agency FSK that the running time of the movies are the same as on the DVDs.

It's really unfair to assume that Lucas would change the movies for the hell of it. He made one big update of the original movies with the Special Edition in preparation of the prequels. The later releases had just little adjustments. The claim that he changed the movies beyond recognition is blowing the issue way out of proportion.

Yes I am looking for a bridge over there, I'll offer you $5 for it. What I believe is irrelevant, you asked and I answered, it's here in this thread somewhere now why don't you look for it yourself. Thanks.

If George changes the current Hayden Christensen evil glare ending with this one, I'd be first in line to purchase the set, 2004 transfers and all.
I would buy this set no doubt with that ending!

Do any of you know if the Complete Saga has anything more than the separately packaged prequels and originals? I ask because the saga is still $89.99 on Amazon and, currently, buying the 6 movies in the 2 separate packages is $10 cheaper from Amazon.

You're too quick. Thanks.

After I posted it, I thought Amazon may have the info on the number of discs and they did as I was about to answer my own question but you beat me to it.

I especially love how Yoda and Obi-wan look at Hayden almost disdainfully with a 'serves you right' look on their faces as he burns. From Luke's grin in his reaction shot, he seems in particular to be enjoying the show.

I think its pretty clear what the OT characters think of Hayden's acting in the PT

Exactly! Lucas has made changes to fit in with his original vision. The theatrical versions of the OT seem to be his original vision, but they simply came first. I feel all of the changes are for the better (e.g. Vader leaving Cloud City connects the scenes before/after it with him and also gives us a good break from the action).

Lucas takes a lot of heat but he still continues to work hard to give the fans great products that we can buy at the time. Hopefully the blu-ray set meets the original vision, but if not I'll be ready for the next release in a few years. Have to imagine that Lucas still has an ace up his sleeve in the form of some cool technology that isn't quite ready. Can't wait! LOL.

What ever happened to just enjoying the films? This thread is just a bunch of people complaining about transfers nobody has seen. And until Lucasfilm or Lucas himself pipes up about what transfers they are using and what not. Then I really don't see what all the fuss is about. It's like the Extended LOTR arguments. Everyone said there was a green hue in the first film. And when I watched it, i did not see one. Everything looked fine. So lighten up, Just be excited we all have an excuse to take a day off and watch some great films!

This is going to turn out like the lord of the rings release. A bunch of people, myself included said they weren't going to buy it because of the green tint. Well, most of them did. With star wars fanatics, I wouldn't be surprised if everyone ended up buying it.

Well why are you guys even taking that away from my post? All I asked was IF there were any more changes do you NOT read my posts at all? I am one of the guys who LIKES the SE that is why I asked if there were more additions or changes not to hate on Lucas but because I personally would like to see some more improvements. I want the movies to line up with the books not the theatrical release at all. That is my perfect versions of Star Wars re add all the scenes that were cut that I have read about countless times in the books but never got to see. Including them at all is good enough as long as they are cleaned up and presentable but I would love to have a ultimate edit of Star Wars with every deleted scene added back in.

Wow this thread is out of hand when a guy asks an innocent questions and people start assuming he is saying something else entirely.

This release isn't offering me any films I don't already own. For me this is a format release, not a film release.

That being the case, evaluating it in terms of format rather than films makes perfect sense.

Exactly. I'm repeating myself, but I don't know what some people are doing here. This is BLU RAY forum, not film enthusiast forum. We care here about quality. Many of us are purist, audiophiles and so on.

Hello, Lucasfilm employer! Tell Mr. Lucas that if he cares so much about quality, then he should fix the lightsabres in OT, to make it consistent with PT.

First, the problems with 2004 master are far more serious, than some green tint in LOTR, which as you say, most would not even notice.
Second, I'm buying the whole saga, but only for PT in 1080p and special features from OT and PT. If Lucas doesn't fix the problems with 2004 transfer, then I will sell this horrible OT on Ebay .

A star wars the force unleashed movie would be sweet, I really hope that happens. The game actually had a sweet story and it told how the rebellion came to be.

I'd prefer a Knights of the Old Republic movie myself.
