There is also a slideshow on the official site showing these, plus the figures being released to commemorate the Blu Ray deleted scenes release.

The slideshow alludes to but does not show the figures from the deleted sandstorm scene from ROTJ, but I saw them and they're pretty cool. Looking forward to seeing that scene on this release. The old clips I've seen make the storm look pretty wicked, but I guess it was cut because it screwed up the pace. Too bad.

Slide 39, although they don't look any different to standard Jedi figures with the exception of the general and the mon calamari.

Interesting, I thought it was a 3-pack with Luke, Chewie, and Han -- and they definitely look like they're in a sandstorm (Leia and Lando there do not). Guess we'll soon see.

Say it ain't so!

RE: Back cover art

At least it looks confirmed that it's 6.1 ES Discrete and not 5.1 Matrixed as it so often is when companies throw around the "6.1" spec.

When has this been done with BD? I can hardly think of any 6.1 mixes other than the LOTR EEs.

Have you guys noticed the difference in running times on the Danish Blu Ray back cover compared to the R2 DVD running times on their covers?

Danish Blu Ray cover times

TPM 138 MINS
AOTC 142 MINS
ROTS 140 MINS
ANH 125 MINS
ESB 128 MINS
ROTJ 135 MINS

The UK DVD running times are...

TPM 130 MINS
AOTC 136 MINS
ROTS 135 MINS
ANH 120 MINS
ESB 122 MINS
ROTJ 129 MINS

You talking 6.1 ES discrete or 5.1 ES Matrixed (which is often labeled 6.1)?

That´s because DVDs run with 25 frames per second and BDs with 24 frames per second, I guess.

Lol that can't be right. Dvd's don't play faster than the BluRay. Someone educate me if I am wrong. Also wouldnt that mean they would all be roughly the saem length longer?

For instance if the larger running times are due to it being 24fps instead of 25 (i thought dvd's were 60?) why is return of the Jedi 9 minutes longer at 135 from 128 while TPM is 8 min longer starting at 130min?

I think it is safe to assume there are new scenes.

It's the PAL times for UK DVD's there's a 4% difference between those and the film times due to the conversion to our television 50hz system (NTSC ones are usually the same as film), it's 50hz vs. 60hz.

So for a 2hour movie there would be roughly 5-6 minutes difference.

Well, it´s the quickest explanation I could come up with... but nevertheless, as much as I would have liked you to be right about new scenes I backchecked with IMDB and the running times of the movies are about the same as stated on the back of the danish BD-set.

Thanks for clearing that up. Also I am sure the extra 1 minute on TPM and ESB is just an error on imdb's part.

I'm thinking exactly he same,mate...The runtime of the movies are identical wth the blu-ray runtime,so we won't get any extended versions of the movies.

It is an error... the running time of the TPM Blu-Ray is listed as 136 Mins on the german rating agency´s website. (FSK.de)

Who should I email to ask whether the Prequel and Original Trilogies will have 4-discs (with the extra content one)?

Are we sure that it lists TPM as 138 minutes? It's hard to tell with that resolution. Look at the "6" in 16:9. It also looks like an "8". TPM is likely 136 minutes just like the DVD.
