Is Boba´s voice really that big of a deal to you?
I naturally prefer Temuerra Morrison´s voice and really think it´s a great improvement. But, I didn´t know people mind it that much.

Most people in Germany not including me watch Star Wars in the dubbed version where the voice never changed. So it´s no issue over her. Needless to say that dubbed movies are unbearable.

Everyone seems to have another opinion about the changes... so, I totally disagree with him. I love all the changes above (Hayden, Emperor, End celebration)... the only thing I´m not a big fan of is the "new" Jabba song and the animation of Sy Snootles.
Well there are several changes that I still don't like but if Han is the only one that shoots, Boba's voice went back to the way it was and take Hayden out of Jedi I could live with all the rest of the changes...let me call George up. It's called compromise.

Do you have a source for this? I'd love to believe it but I want to see a source before I will.

Pretty sure someone here already obtained confirmation from Lucasfilm that they are, indeed, '04 remasters.

What do you mean by that?

I´m pretty sure the scans they used for the BD masters are the same the DVDs are based upon. Lucas said that the updated version were transferred to digital and much of the needed work has been done. I think he referred to Lowry Digital scanning and cleaning the scans for the DVDs. BUT... that has nothing to do with how the BDs are going to look like.

Yeah, but it's not a question of "if they can" do it, it never has been. It's a question of whether they think the cost of remastering is worth it considering they could just release the same ole masters with a fresh encode and laugh all the way to the bank.

A LOT of releases go this route, it's not a question of just whether they have the ability to do it, or whether the movie is popular enough, or anything like that.

On top of that, it may be in their best interests to sell a pile of these and then release a double-dip in a couple of years with a genuine new master.

Marketing and money trump film-making integrity 9 times out of 10 when it comes to home video releases.

Just look at the recent LOTR controversy to understand why this isn't always a given.

Gladiator being smothered in DNR. Saving Private Ryan with audio sync issues.

In fact I think the opposite of your statement is true. Star Wars is such a big seller that things don't have to be right. They can just be "pretty good" and still sell untold millions of copies. There isn't much incentive to go back and "fix" something that sells 100 million copies in it's current form.

Using the '04 masters does not necessarily indicate that the Blu-Ray versions will be unaltered. They can correct mistakes and make edits on the '04 masters, without having to create a completely new master.

I believe it has already been shown that the TPM pink color cast was corrected in the Blu-Ray release. And didn't someone mention that the animal sounds Ben makes in ANH were altered (yet again) for the Blu-Ray release?

Anyway, just because they are using the '04 masters doesn't mean that corrections weren't made for the Blu-Ray release.
