The mystery surrounding the character in the late 70s (along with the cool outfit) made him a "badass".

Now we've met him as a child and a lot of that is lost.

It's funny you post that -- it contains what has always been one of my least favorite cuts/transitions of all time and is so jarringly distracting to me.

AOTC should sound incredible -- can't wait!

I am loving watching all these clips, pics, trailers and comparisons but every day it gets harder not to sit down and watch all of the films. I probably haven't watched any of the OT for a couple of years, or the PT for the last year and am desparate to keep them fresh again for when the Blu Rays arrive. Starting to sweat on putting one of the films in just to get back in the groove.

Before a few months ago, I probably hadn't watched any of them in more than a year. Recently my kids are loving watching them, which has renewed my interest. I might slow my watching down to a halt, though, so I don't get bored again before the BDs come out in only 6 weeks!

I wonder if any of the original cast will be pulled in to do promo for the Blu Ray? Harrison Ford is having a blast promoting Cowboys and Aliens:

Prequel Trilogy chewie though LOL

Awesome!

Ford's the best. It baffles me that people say his acting in ANH or ESB wasn't good, let alone tremendous.

(They tend to be the same people who love Jar Jar, hate Darth Maul, and hate Boba Fett)

You could substitute chewie for George Lucas and the request being to star in Star Wars Episode 7. Just listen to the audio with that thought in mind.

With that in mind, I guess Harrison isn't appreciative of the prequels, the special editions or even maybe Greedo shooting first either "after what you did". LMAO

Lets see if he has already had a sneak preview and was referring to the Blu Ray Transfer

I thought Boba Fett was cool when I first saw him in that Christmas Special on first airing.

He reminded me a bit of the Clint Eastwood characters from the old Spaghetti Westerns. Quiet and says more with a nod/look that with actual lines. Plus the idea of NOT knowing what was under that mask made him fn cool. Also, the original voice was soooo badass and cold sounding. Something the new voice is very much missing.

Then.....

....we get this: "Get him Dad! Ha ha ha!" Ugh. The child actor doesn't laugh, he actually says the line "ha ha ha!" Child actors. The Bane of modern films. Honestly, I am happy Lucas left Han Solo out of the PT. We don't need to know the origins of everyone. Just Obi Wan and Darth Vader. That, is it.

Anyway, I think you are all very right: that scene in the asteroid belt with the charges in ATOC is going to sound great. Just wish they would mute the kid...

Now this is something to look forward to in full 6.1 DTS, I love the Falcon and to hear that blast away from Hoth in lossless sound and the best piece of the John Williams scores in the asteroid field, cranked WAYYYYY up, can't wait.

and the video is from our own Adywan! Lets hope for a similar level of colour correction on the BD's.

Here's a response I got back from LFL via e-mail today about the blu-ray release here it is : Thanks for reaching out. We are glad you are excited about the Blu-ray release. We put a lot of hard work into it to really give the fans something special. Regarding your questions; 1. Industrial Light and Magic did go in and make many technical improvements, most notably color matching on select lightsabers shots. 2. The list of extras for discs 7 & 8 are currently available online! We released all of that information on May 4th. 3. The Blu-rays will be the special editions of the movies.

Nice job! Can you give me their e-mail address? I want to ask a more pointed question about the color is all. Thank you so much!

Hmmmm.... well, that is good news about the lightsabers, I guess, since those effects were amongst the most problematic with the 2004 color timing problems.

That being said, there were still many other color timing problems that aren't quite as obvious, and this worries me that they may just be fixing and covering up the more problematic ones and not necessarily taking care of the overall issue as a whole.

But, on the bright side, at least this is better than them not doing anything about it at all.
