It begs the question, though. What if the response to Ken said "no fixes done, these are the 2004 transfers," and other people here said "yeah, well, she's just a marketing employee so it's not convincing". I wonder how that would be received here....

lol
Not sure about others, but you can read back and see that when Adywan posted his comparison videos of the CC footage and screenshots from the website, I said it's very telling of the same color problems existing BUT it's still secondhand material and again not the same as viewing it on your own screen. Nothing is definitive, really. It all depends on what each person chooses to believe/ignore/etc.

I'm not trying to be a downer, I just don't think everyone should get their hopes too high up. Lucas likes to double dip and I doubt he'll play all his cards for this first blu-ray release.

The marketing employee never ever said the discs will be perfect or "all fixed" - he said ILM went in and made many technical improvements. That's it. Don't expect perfection in anything - I can't think of a single film I've owned or have ever seen that doesn't have some sort of issue, somewhere. Don't hold Lucas to an impossible standard, just hold him to a professional standard (you know, flopped surround tracks, blue video fuzz around Death Star explosion, etc.)

I have a feeling that the Best Buy pre-order price will be the in store release price, could possibly be 10 bucks cheaper. i know it was like that with LOTR and the Alien set. They honor on-line priceing also, so if its cheaper on their site, just have them check and they will change it. i do it all the time

Regardless of whatever day it was sent he still got a response from Lucasfilm.
Why? is it so hard for people to swallow the idea that ILM may have gone back and fixed some technical issues?

I feel for you, Ken. Going to be a rough six weeks for you. Hang in there, and just ignore the blowback.

On another note, I am second guessing my choice to buy the complete set. I like the art better of the seperate trilogies, they're cheaper, and I only really care about seeing the deleted scenes, do you think they would be posted on youtube or something pretty quickly?

EDIT: ok I reviewed some of the other features and I lied, I think I want to see most of them, I hope it goes down in price before release day!

I wonder on the blu-ray box set on discs 7 and 8 how many of the mini documentaries will be new ones and how many will be from the past dvd releases?

Just so you know you can pre-order now and if the price goes down by the release date than you will pay whatever the price will be at the time of shipping:

Example:

Star Wars the complete saga= $89.99 as of now.

Star Wars the complete saga= $79.99 as of 9/16

in the end you will end up paying $79.99 (NOT $89.99 THAT YOU PRE-ORDERED AT)

Because the wait is killing me I decided to start revisiting the special features on all of the DVD's and during the Duel of the Fates music video Darth Maul has some dialog that I do not remember being in the film. I hope whatever scene that is from will be included.

I never said the marketing employee said those things. I'm saying that most of the posters on here have inferred it. Many "OMG this set will be great now!" posts seem a bit premature.

I don't want to say anymore about this, though. Where's Cowboy?

Really? Then explain:

"It's a big leap of faith for many to breath a sigh of relief and assume the disc quality will be perfect because of one apparent email."

and

"My point is that some marketing employee saying technical issues are all fixed isn't as convincing as seeing the real thing."

The email said nothing about ALL technical issues being fixed or the disc quality being perfect. You jumped the gun, hoss.

I am not expecting perfection, or for all technical issues to be fixed. I don't advocate holding any artist to a perfect standard - I advocate holding an artist to a professional and reasonable standard. Thanks to Ken, I have more hope today than I did a week ago. Surely not a bad thing. So, thanks again, Ken. And I can't wait for the disc reviews.

That's from those character "tone poems" they created to market the film. It wasn't in any scene.

I definitely expected it to be higher. I thought the SRP would be around $180 with a street price between $100 - $120.

I never knew about those. Still any chance that there might be more deleted scenes for the Prequel movies that were not on the DVD's? watching all the specials and behind the scenes for the first time since these were new is kind of refreshing for me. It is just like the weeks before the next movie I would go back through each previous film and re-watch all of the bonus material and watch ever film once normal and then again with commentaries. That is what I am doing now.

Nevermind I found them they were under Tv spots, I never looked in that folder before, now I really have to go through these DVD's again to see what else I might have missed.

so anyone have guesses as to what those 45 deleted scenes are going to be? Today was the first time since the first release that I have gone back and re-watched any of the deleted scenes and even with the repeated dialog in some of them I think they still could work if put back in. Really the only ones that I just can't stand no matter how much I wanted to is that stupid scene where the Jedi were scratching their faces as some sort of code.
