Nothing yet. I've sent it twice, regarding the lightsabers, color timing, and transfers. In June, I had no trouble getting a response regarding "From Star Wars to Jedi" and "Empire of Dreams". Maybe I wore out my welcome.

Actually, even though they are speaking poorly of the PT, at least they are well thought out and thorough about the problems with the films. It's not just generic, nonsensical bashing. They deeply, critically examine the issues with the movies. And while I could do without the reviews being done in character as this "Mr. Plinkett" guy with the whole side story that goes with it, the reviews, themselves, are well thought out. You don't have to agree with them, but at least its more than just blind bashing.

As far as alterations go, I would be pleasantly surprised but not TOO shocked if Lucas ended up undoing the changes to the Han/Greedo scene. It's a stupid alteration, and it doesn't add or change anything to the scene-- it's just an awkward edit that was done for no good reason.

Remember that stupid scream that was added into Empire? Apparently Lucas realized that was a pointless change that didn't work, so it was removed in the DVD version. So it isn't impossible that he would undo some of his alterations.

But there's no way we'll be seeing Shaw return as a ghost in Jedi. The only we'll see that again is if the original versions ever get restored and put out.

Good point but I don't read those reviews and don't intend to.

The big problem to me with the whole "Greedo shooting first thing" is that it just looks awkward when Han does that little twitch/dodge thing to avoid the blast. It's clearly a movement that was (badly) digitally edited in after the fact and not something that Harrison actually did when it was filmed.

Of course, even the original was kind of awkward in that it just cuts over to a close-up of Greedo and all of the sparks appear in front of him. It is kind of a jarring edit as well (though IMO not as bad as the Han-twitch).

This seems to take the best of both versions and combine them nicely. Hopefully something is done to fix this for the BD version.

its certainly an extra step- It just seems funny to me that we are charged extra for HD- HD really isn't even HD anymore - HD is really the SD for HD tvs- SD almost shouldn't even exist anymore unless its being unconverted on a HD station (sorry for end rant there)
Most MSOs no longer charge extra for HD, if that's what you were referring to. Some charge extra for the cable box, but few (if any) charge for access to HD signals. Most cable channels are actually split into two channels: one SD and one HD. If not done by the cable network, it's done by the MSO.

The official site said so. Also, look at it.

is that a question or a statement?

I'm not Pro star wars hate- in fact, i have mainly good memories about star wars-

but unfortunately, i can't even watch the prequels- maybe its due to what my expectations are for them differing from what we were given- or maybe the films are just crap- my tolerance for them descends from being able to put up with 1 the most and then less with each prequel- ep3 was the first film in my life that i wanted to walk out on-

There is an obvious difference in level of quality from the OT to the PT- It is possible for people to love and hate star wars at the same time due to this-

Shaw's body looks noticably heavier than Hayden, and I suspect there'd be a height difference as well. From an effects standpoint, I'd think it'd be easier to just shoot Hayden alone, and then combine it with the existing elements, to form the final shot.
proof that it is only the head that was replaced.

The Red Letter Media douchebags are the guys who makes videos about robots having sex with each other and I'm supposed to think of them as a authority on film?

Oh internet you never cease to embarass yourself.

Wake me up when RLM makes an original film anyone cares about...

You're missing the point. The problem here is that it's been discussed to death here, with same arguments from both sides every time. OT vs PT, OUT vs SE. Notice how big this thread now (even after constant clean ups by the mods), and the blu-ray isn't even out yet. A lot of Bothans died fighting this war, many more wounded, but nobody won. It was awful, not worth going into it again.

Now if anyone still gonna go to those wars, we have a thread for that in the movies section.

this thread is like Seinfeld- it really tries to be about nothing, but there is still a lot of good stuff in it~

This thread is nothing like Seinfeld. Seinfeld had a girl in it.

There hasn't been an official announcement, but we pretty much know every documentary on disc nine, and Empire of Dreams isn't on there. So don't bet on it.

Might as well keep the DVDs tbh, the reason most people would buy that set would be to get the bonus disc
