New trailer for the set. Includes the crossed sabers scene from ROTJ fixed.
I can't play the video on my phone. But that's great news!

Interesting to see the blue screen cuts to actual footage in the trailer. Do you think they are using the angle button to enable us to toggle between the two as Rick Macallum mentioned once? Wouldn't be very hard to do on either AOTC or ROTS as they are entirely digital, maybe harder to do on the other episodes though.

There might be examples within the special features but never with the films themselves. Probably way too complicated to pull off seamlessly.

I'm talking about TESB footage, which was definitely not touched upon.

It was intentionally purple. Personal request from Samuel L. Jackson to Lucas.

That close up shot of Luke as his lightsaber and Vader's touch has been touched. The core wasn't that white in the '04 boxset.

Look at the positives - Hoth is no longer blue, the sabres have a glow to them again, they have rounded ends, the emperor has lost his pet slug, we know the music score has been restored over the effects and we still have any new alterations to look forward to.

30 days and counting (UK only ha ha)

P.s. Doesn't this acknowledge that the '04 release was a bit of a botch job though - runs

Interesting that the exclusive Blu-Ray trailer featured mostly Original Trilogy footage and that the Panasonic deal where you buy a TV or home system you get a free copy of the original Trilogy Blu-ray set. I guess they know that it's the original trilogy that is going to sell this set and also the best one to market their TV's
Robert Watts(producer on Star wars 77'):

If they did fixes to the movies, I don't think they've just done it in the last few weeks. They could've shown that fixed crossed-lightsabers much earlier. Have they been teasing us?

Why the hell would Mr. Watts be unsure because of CG?

I swear, the argument against CG these days is stupid...

Bad CG has more to do with poor planning and time management on the filmmaker's part more than the houses can't actually achieve what they set out to achieve.

Agreed. The positives are slowly coming in now. I don't think we'll get a perfect release, but I'm confident we'll get something decent.

it's the same as it was in 2004 apart from Vaders saber being pink.

No, the PR department didn't have access to the final Blu Ray transfer when putting together the trailers so they just used the existing 2004 transfers which were already in 1080p.

adywan,

Not quite. Both cores a slightly whiter than they were, especially Luke's. It's seems obvious to me...

And the crush isn't as pronounced as it was.

I think he was referring to the CG added to ANH specifically, lets face it, it butchered the film he once loved and worked so tirelessly on!

It's obvious that it's not fixed. It seems more white because the whole picture is a bit more clear. Trying to say that they touched that is not accurate or even true.

It maybe possible that TESB had some color correction only, not lightsaber corrections...
