So what are you if you say something negative about Avatar ripping of Star Wars?

No, just a fan of one and having a dislike of the other one way or another or the other way around, which ever would apply

You know, those are 6 great movies, so it should be a positive thread with a lot of excitement for the Blu-Rays, but noooooo, those purists have much more stuff to say than us Star Wars lovers.

But enough with the whining, we should talk about the see-through gown of Princess Leia in A New Hope, thank goodness there's no bra in a Galaxy far far away...

There are 9 great movies (OT,PT,SE). I love them all. I am positive that when we get them I will be in line to buy the first copy. My wife knows this and knows that the only thing that will be watch for a few days is SW. I may have to fly to the UK to get them, but so what, it is only money.

It just never caught my attention. Saw Titanic for the first time a couple of years ago and you have not missed much.

But lets stay on topic of how awesome SW is going to be.

The old SE masters were struck at 1080p, I hope the delay in making this set means we will be getting a new 4k masters of SW,ESP,ROJ and TPM

The colour is all part of the picture quality for me, which I just don't dig. The colour saturation has been boosted so much it causes some dreadful artefacts, like the aformentioned blue haze around the death star 'splosion. Threepio's golden coverings actually look green at times because there's so much blue in the image. The contrast has been jacked up too, all of these being standard issue techniques to give something a bit more 'pop' rather than presenting it as it should be. I can see plenty of static grain patterns thanks to Lowry's clean-up & grain reduction, too. Add to that the botched sound mix for Star Wars and, in the cold light of day, the DVDs are a huge disappointment to me.

Lucasfilm have GOT to do this BD set right. As Mike said, 4K scans of the originals (although of god-knows-what materials) would be a start. I'm dreaming of how awesome this set may be, but if past releases are anything to go by it'll be very much by the numbers, while Blade Runner and the Alien Anthology show us how a modern classic should be treated.

Weren't these actually rushed out in a way? Even though it didn't show on their part, wasn't Lowry only given the fraction of the time to work on each film? I thought I had read that. And I think they went to lowry first, then back to ILM/SS.

The fact that Sansweet stated that they've been working on these for years, may be a good thing - I hope.

I don't think the last two are bad, just trying to figure out what that guy meant.

Sounds like a bad idea, but consider the fact that fans are saying that the current animated series, the Clone Wars, is better than all of the prequels combined."

Yes, absolutely. The world is waiting for the story of Jar Jar Binks to be told in its entirety. So yes, I'm waiting for the trilogy of movies that explores the life of Jar Jar before he gets into trouble and becomes banished from his home, to the journey with the Jedi, and eventually the story of his life long service in the Senate. In detail. I want to know how Jar Jar voted as a Senator.

And if Luke Skywalker is replaced by a digital Jar Jar in the Very Special Edition of the OT (old trilogy) on Blue-Ray, that would be great.

That's what I am hoping on, but we can never be sure, so we will just have to wait and see. (fingers crossed)

Well, here is his final scene from 'A New Hope'. Enjoy.

Jar-Jar's fate.
