Jerjerrod’s Conflict / Battle of Endor: The Lost Rebels & The Fate of General Veers! Can I get a: "F#$K YES!!!" SOOOO fn awesome! I am having a nerdgasim right now. I hope this list is the real deal!

The Star Wars spoofs. Meh. However, if it has a copy of 'Troops' on it, then I will be a happy camper!

Like I said I thought it was him but I also thought he looked like everyone else in that shot so I was confused if he was just a clone or not.

It was indeed 6PO in the OT movies in the 80s and I remember finding it odd that they got the name wrong on some cereals box my mother had purchased (C3PO, obviously)

R2-D2 had both formulation and often just R2, if I recall clearly.

It's been some time since I watched the movies on DVD but I think they are the same.

I'm hoping that's not the complete list of deleted scenes. Notice that Luke's first grappling hook throw is not listed?

Is there even proof that that scene exists, or is just a bunch of 50 year olds swearing that they think they saw that scene on a 70mm print in theatres over 30 years ago?

Default Original Trilogy Deleted/Extended Scenes

Episode IV
  • Tosche Station
  • Old Woman on Tatooine
  • Aunt Beru’s Blue Milk
  • The Search for R2-D2
  • Cantina Rough Cut
  • Stormtrooper Search
  • Darth Vader Widens the Search
  • Alternate Biggs and Luke Reunion

Episode V
  • Han and Leia: Extended Echo Base Argument
  • Luke’s Recovery
  • Luke and Leia: Medical Center
  • Deleted Wampa Scenes
  • The Fate of General Veers
  • Yoda’s Test
  • Hiding in the Asteroid
  • Alternate Han and Leia Kiss
  • Lobot’s Capture
  • Leia Tends to Luke

Episode VI
  • Vader’s Arrival and Reaching Out to Luke
  • Tatooine Sandstorm
  • Rebel Raid on the Bunker
  • Jerjerrod’s Conflict
  • Battle of Endor: The Lost Rebels

After seeing the quality of these deleted scenes in the trailer, I think I'm going to skip the Complete Saga and just pick up the OT when the price drops to $30. I'll watch the deleted scenes when they are inevitably uploaded to YouTube on Sept 12th.

Same here. I thought all these discs were supposed to be BD-50's? Maybe I was wrong. According to this site's FAQ, a BD-50 can hold around 9 hours of HD video or 23+ hours of SD video, or combination of such. 2:42 of HD material and 4:15 of SD material on disc 9 seems like a lot of unused capacity, or am I wrong? Someone correct me if I am. I wonder if they used BD-25's for the special features discs?

I'm disappointed at the content of the documentaries disc too. Besides the original three and the new ESB doc, there are two weak docs I've already seen and that have no repeat value for me(Dewback and Tech), one that I'll watch once(Spoofs), and one that I'll never watch(guess which one?).

Why would that make it cheap in your opinion? In my opinion, we already get more than 2.5 discs of new/previously unreleased special features on this set(Discs 7, 8, and part of 9) and less than half a disc of old material. I think 2.5 discs of new and 1.5 discs of old would have made a nice blend of new and old and given us a comprehensive set, had they smartly added a tenth disc of the past material, that is. But, they did not. There were a lot of high quality special features from the past VHS/LD/DVD releases. They should have at least put the features that never made it past VHS/LD on here.

That's one of the biggest disappointments about the special features for me. Three of the four old documentaries are on this set. Empire of Dreams is on DVD. The fourth old documentary, "From Star Wars to Jedi", is nowhere on the set and has never been released past the VHS/LD days. I definitely think it was more appropriate to the set than the 501st doc...

Here it is as you mentioned you've never seen it:

You realize that the film containing these scenes were probably kicked around on the cutting room floor and whatnot. It's a miracle that the footage from A New Hope has survived 34 years! It was not the norm to save cut footage for "archival purposes" in the early 80s.

At least the deleted scenes, as dirty and scratched as they may be, are in HD. I was expecting SD.

STAR WARS Blu-Ray New Deleted Scene - YouTube
Yes... I think we've all seen this one... Sorry, but... IT'S FAKE!

First of all, it's not on the Star Wars YouTube channel.

Second, read this comment the author posted, ON HIS VIDEO

"Man, this video is a joke I made to have a little laugh :-) I used puggo's 16mm preservation to make it look like the other deleted scenes and recut it, so it would seem like Luke missed the first time ;-)"

That's what annoys me about the deleted scenes from the prequel DVDs not being on the Blus. I want to see those scenes again in HD. There's really no reason to not have the trailers and the other features on this set, all in HD (unless some of the material was only mastered in SD). It just doesn't come across as a truly complete set without this material.

These Ep 4 scenes have been archived since the seventies and probably are in better condition than the original negatives of the final film. Why doesn't the Jabba scene in Ep 4 look like crap? Because, as always, there's a method to Lucas' madness. He doesn't want pristine outtakes. If the negs of the deleted scenes are washed out, scratched, and dirty - the dudes at Lowry Digital could easily fix it.

I'm glad they didn't restore and clean up the deleted scenes (unless they were to be re-inserted into the movies). It reminds me that they're not part of the movies and taken out for creative reasons.

What?

It would probably cost Lucasfilm as much to have one 2 minute deleted scene restored as it cost them to have all six films restored in 2004.

You've seen the condition of those scenes, how can you possibly say they can be easily fixed? Can they even be fixed is the question. Obviously color wouldn't be a huge issue, but getting rid of those scratches... man, it would probably take about a day per frame. It would take a single person 8 YEARS!

I like the list of deleted scenes that was in the description on the list of special features on the blu-ray box set. Sure it would have been nice to have the prequel deleted scenes from the dvd's in HD on the blu-rays but I'm not mad about it at all.
