I think the regular cover looks better. I'm not saying it's good either, but I just find putting "All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy" all over the package kind of lame. Makes the scene out to be more important than it really is, which is inevitable when a movie like this becomes a classic and is constantly referenced.

Gonna watch it tonight.

Implying his turning isn't gradual. If it IS that important, then that's even more reason to not spoil it on the cover. I feel the same way about the xenomorph being on the cover of every home video release of Alien, but it's not like there's an alternate cover I can choose from.

I just got done watching the 4K disc and I did notice the sync problem too. It is ever so slightly out of sync. Not enough to ruin the movie. I didn't even really notice it until towards the end of the film. Other then the very minor audio sync issue this disc is pretty amazing overall.

Yup. Most TVs have different settings for HDR10 and DV, so it's likely that the DV setting has a motion intrapolation setting on by default. Once you turn it off it'll be off for next time.

During an early shot of the Overlook Hotel looking at it head on I noticed some flashing at the top of the screen and it looked like helicopter blades. Is that what I was seeing? Would it not be as noticeable if it was in 1.85?

It doesn't spoil anything, because no one who hasn't seen it wouldn't even know what it's in reference to. The words also make a maze on the cover, which is a big plot point, but that doesn't spoil anything either, because that's not how spoilers work.

The difference between 1.78 and 1.85 is negligible. You'd still see it.

After watching it again just now, I still don't feel it's vital enough to make it all over the cover. There are so many parts of his madness. The cover doesn't feel like The Shining. At least the standard one features the hotel, the boy and Jack. I just don't care for the white background.

Anyway, this was my third viewing of the movie, and it felt like I was watching it properly for the first time, after previously only seeing it in 720p or below on a monitor with headphones. I was entertained.

I think it would have been pretty nice if they had included two aspect ratios, like their Mask of the Phantasm release on the Batman Animated Series boxset.

Now that I think back to earlier today, their Aladdin 1992 section was empty, but there were Aladdin steelbooks right next to it. It was still on the New Releases cabinet. It stood out to me because I wasn't aware that Aladdin was already out until today. You'd think the limited edition would deplete quicker than the regular version, not even taking into account that the regular box looks so bad and is only five dollars less. I'm just surprised this is common practice, keeping them in the back so they can sell their own. I thought that maybe it was superstitious me until you said this. I wonder how the studios would feel about what Best Buy is doing. I mean, they get paid either way, but some people aren't gonna wanna buy it at all for those prices.

They are not fans, they are not respectful to anyone involved with this movie either. They're garbage plain and simple. This is an ART and it's so far from what it IS or should be. They NEED to just STOP and let another COMPANY and WORKFORCE handle these films. Do I buy it and support them or just play more video games in 4K. I get so excited that I woorked myself up to the expectations that 4K promised and hey it's just not there because they F up the Aspect Ratio, then they don't put out Mono, Stereo,5.1,7.1 and Atmos options. Then no special effects and they usually mess up frames and audio. it's just a complete depresing downer. 4K was and can do so much more but these company's FAIL US the people that BUILT their pattootees. End of Story. F.
