In addition the German Blu Rays of Grizzly, Day of the Animals and Dogs also include the extras of the previous DVD editions missing on the Scorpion discs.

Is there something missing on the print that was used for THE RETURN? Right at the end, the picture cuts to black for several seconds before the credits. I thought it was odd and on the commentary the director talked about the "Biblical quote that ties up the end nicely." Whatever it was, it's not on screen, though I had never seen it before so I'm not sure. Just struck me as "off".

I still have my DVD - will have to check to see if the quote is also missing there.

UPDATE: There's no quote on the DVD, looks like it was omitted prior to theatrical release.

Thanks. The director must have been recording his commentary to a version that had it. Either way you can tell something is missing at least.

I think it's a safe bet that it hasn't been cancelled. It really wasn't announced that long ago (June) and no release date was specified.

Speaking of The Incubus, I know it's a long shot but I was thinking it could be one of Vinegar Syndrome's secret titles. Didn't they say one of the titles was a film that only had a tape master?

Maybe from the audio source? Not a reason to panic hopefully just a few incidents.

**** Update finished the BLU those were the only instances of quick audio dropouts. So no big deal I was afraid it was going to plague the movie.

But I’m loving the funky Ron Grainer score (The Omega Man)

Lots of crazy stuff in the movie including a couple of decent kills.


I think there is something really wrong with the baby in this movie!!

I just got done watching this film and noticed those audio dropouts too. I'm breaking in a new blu ray player so it was good to know it wasn't hardware related. Just three brief instances in the first 10 mins, so no biggie as you say.

This film is a new guilty pleasure. I still can't figure out how the baby/dwarf nastiness was being worked, though nothing was quite as horrific as the Italian accents issuing from the mouths of Ralph Bates and Eileen Atkins. Yikes! 'Zee baybee eiz posseyssed by ze daiyyveel'.

Stuff of nightmares.

The Church doesn't even have cover art yet. We've had art for Opera and The Sect for what feels like a year now. Are we sure Synapse isn't handling these?

Yeah, Opera has become the next Suspiria, although I don't think it will take 4 years to come out. I don't remember exactly what Walt said last about it months ago on here, but it seemed like the transfer was done and they were waiting to finish the extras. I remember he was giving updates regularly about the color correction, etc, but that seems like over a year ago. I also believe that the French release, that just came out, was based off of CR's transfer? That was at least what I remember about it.
You are right, I don't remember any information coming out about Church. Opera, to me, is the 'big boy' of the 3, so hopefully it's almost done, but a little info on its progress would be nice.

That says to me that the transfer is done, no? I assume they are still waiting on the extras then. There is no way THIS title is ready to be pressed and Bill cannot pay the plant for this title. If that is the case, then it definitely is 'sad to say'...
