The most obvious answer is that their schedule isn't based on any one person's tastes. Sometimes they are waiting for an upcoming remaster. I know there's been plenty of releases this year that many people have been happy with. Basically, for every long-awaited title they release there will still be many films that people are disappointed in not having yet. The fact is that the bluray market necessitates a limited number of releases each month and that means people will always complain that their preferences aren't given priority.

I had a look at your collection there and - putting aside the fact that you have THE CHASE and 9 to 5 as pre-orders (both TT titles) - I find it hard to believe you wouldn't like quite a lot of the movies they've released this year. I think you just don't know them.

Maybe you should be a bit more adventurous?

Wow that's the best release slate I've seen from them in a long time. I'm interested in most of those titles. Glad to see the focus this time on the older classics, like they used to do a few years ago.

Count me in for Moscow on the Hudson and Stardust Memories. I'll probably get The Barefoot Contessa also to add to this years Bogart bonanza and The 3 Worlds of Gulliver.

Nice to see TT getting BD rights to Sony titles stuck in Mill Creek Hell (Moscow). I hope TT gets Mazursky's Tempest at some point.

I own "9 to 5" and "The Chase" on DVD and they aren't at the top of my Blu-ray want list - far from it.

But there are many I do want that Twilight has the rights to release (for years now) they still say they're coming - but when - in 2018???? And really that's my complaint, They've said they got the rights and will release a title but it never appears - I know that's why other studios don't release the coming titles until they are ready for release so when they aren't announced they don't get complaints. But knowing what they are sitting on and seeing what's release is very frustrating. Esp when they are sitting on some "A" classic titles

Agreed. I bought the DVD a while back, and it really just doesn't do it for me. It's the only of his movies I have seen that I didn't like, besides maybe "Scoop." I have every other TT release of his films so far.

Yeah, I was thinking their most recent months were pretty bad (or at least it was a combination of films that I'd never heard of, and when I looked into them they didn't seem like films I would like to "gamble" $20 or $30 on). Even though there were some good releases earlier in 2016, I was thinking perhaps they were starting to approach the bottom of the barrel of what the studios would give up to them.

But this is a very nice round of announcements. Several films I know and love, as well as a couple of more reasonable "blind buys".

I'll probably be buying all of these, except for Stardust Memories and Nicholas Nickelby.

If it's easier for me simply to list the ones that I have no plans to buy, then that means that I'm really happy with the announcement.

Just an FYI - I will update the first post to this thread with the new upcoming releases after TT posts them on their Facebook page. It is my policy not to post them earlier than that, out of respect to the HTF site's exclusive sneak peak announcement window.

I picked up 7 for $70 at Screen Archives and I still need "The Sound and The Fury" &" Mindwarp". Anybody have 5 and need 2 more ? I can go in with you.

Not much Laura Antonelli available on blu ray, so definitely Gran Bollito for me.

I'm very excited about THE BOSTON STRANGLER, THE THREE WORLDS OF GULLIVER, and PRETTY POISON.

Was hoping for THE EFFECT OF GAMMA RAYS ON MAN-IN-THE-MOON MARIGOLDS, but they can't release everything at once.

Not a lot there that jumps out at me. Will watch some trailers, but happy to have two months off when other labels and studios are releasing so much pre-Christmas stuff.

I WANT TO LIVE! (1958) BLU-RAY - November 15th

THE BOSTON STRANGLER (1968) BLU-RAY - November 15th

THE BAREFOOT CONTESSA (1954) BLU-RAY - December 13th

Defiantly in for these. Can't really say I'm super excited about them but will be picking them up.

Not sure if the Twilight Time folks still browse this thread, but if so, seeing the Eureka announcement for Metropolis made me think that would be a nice pickup for TT from Sony. Memories would be great too.

In for Moby Dick, The 3 Worlds of Gulliver, and most likely The Boston Strangler. Only one more Harryhausen to be officially announced! C'mon Warners....you're killing me

Speaking of RH I didn't think the scan used for The 7th Voyage of Sinbad bd was very good. I wonder if Sony could do a 4k scan and give it to Twilight Time? I think it would be a good seller.

Looked solid enough to me outside of transition/fade/effects scenes, which would be hard to improve.
