I'll grab TCM2 from them. Good thing I held off on upgrading my DVD, I almost bought the old BD a couple of times over the past month. Now I'm glad sine I'll now get a CE of it from SF

That's Part 2 (Bill Moseley's character Chop Top says it).

Yikes that was the big Halloween announcement? Though I' will admit I'm a little biased and don't really care for any of that series. Oh well, other good stuff preordered, can't win them all.

For me TCM 2 was a big announcement. I love that movie. I can't wait to see what they have planned for the release.

Those 2 are bad, I would've skipped it if it were those two. TCM2 is miles better then them.

What a waste releasing titles already availble and already decent.

Was hoping for Tales from the Darkside movie on BD, would fit nicely with Body Bags

It's not a waste as I'd rather have TCM2 from SF with all the SF extras & slip instead of the old MGM BD which thankfully I never got around to buying this month. Same with Day of the Dead. I had the old BD release but was more then happy to get rid of that & get the SF version.

It's probably pretty daft of me to make a blind buy of this without having made my way to watching my Twilight Time Blu-ray of Count Yorga, Vampire yet, but I've heard enough good things about both.
both films are awesome!!

I'm pretty happy with the blu-ray MGM put out. We're not talking about a "movie only, questionably dark transfer" like ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK or anything.

You still have a ton of horror movies alone that deserve to be put out on blu and they go back to well on something that has already had multiple blu releases worldwide? (Sigh) Ah well.... I guess we shall see what we shall see...

really? For me they're at the bottom along with TCM: The Beginning but I'd even put that one above those 2. I enjoyed TMC,TCM2,TCM remake & TCM3D a lot though.

There are plenty of horror movies out already on BD that I also hope will get a SF version someday. TCM2 will be a day 1 buy for sure.

Short of a brand new transfer, which it doesn't really need, there's practically nothing Scream Factory can come up with to make this worth double (or triple) dipping for. Between the old MGM disc and Arrow's fantastic box set, there simply isn't anything more to add. This announcement really is a head-scratcher.

I gotta be completely honest here. Scream Factory is losing ground here big time. Most announcements feel like something I'd love to cross off a wishlist but can't because I already own it. Someone has already done it and done it better. And I can't really blame Shout since they can't get their hands on certain titles so all they can do is create Stateside editions of stuff UK labels have already done. It's frustrating as heck. And I fear they're going to go the same route as Anchor Bay - reissuing stuff every couple of years simply because they can't get a hold of anything else. I'm fully expecting Ultimate Editions of Army of Darkness and Halloween a couple of years from now.

I don't think there's a person on this forum (or the internet) that would argue that TCM2 doesn't belong in the Scream Factory Lineup... with that said, planning your Halloween announcement (or Comic Con announcements) around already released, affordable, Very good quality movies is just silly. I realize that there is always a matter or timing and what you can announce at any given time, but really... why Halloween? Just like the Comic Con announcements Scream Factory wouldn't catch so much flack if they just avoided big venues and special occassions like this and went back to the *Surprise Announcement!* formula. I also think that if you're going to release an already released film that has had many good quality releases available, you need to lead off with that anouncement and immediately follow it up with your other stuff. TCM2 was never going to be a big announcement, but had they opened with that and then announced 3 or 4 more titles today, people would have moved on from TCM2 and not felt nearly as disappointed. As it stands, Scream Factory has some of the worst timing with their announcements and what they choose to emphasize.

On a personal note I will say that I've become pretty apathetic towards Scream's announcements and releases this year. There are certainly some stellar ones I was excited about (Both Tales from the Crypt releases, Army of Darkness, Shocker, The Sentinel etc) but there have also been a lot of "meh" announcements which seems to be happening far more often these days than the big time exciting ones.

Thx Seymour. Now I (think) remember more of the film - I think Chop Top says the line while at a radio station. I'm gonna have to get the film now, lol.

The transfer is pretty rough and the existing documentary is pretty old and boring. They could definitely add a ton to this release and greatly improve the video. I don't get your statement at all.

Throw in Species 2 and Manhunter and this was a pretty great weekend of announcements IMO.

Yeah, their assembly line approach has gotten kind of tiresome lately. And some of their most recent announcements/upcoming releases seem more desperate than ever--Garbage Pail Kids Movie, Women's Prison Massacre, Manhunter, Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2, Species 3/4, etc.

I also noticed, all of the announcements from the last couple of days are from MGM. Maybe they don't have anymore from Universal? Damn, they gotta tap into someone else's catalog.

As for todays announcement - TCM II -I think its one of the biggest pieces of SH*T IMHO (sorry Shout, but I mean it in a fun way)
The glory days of IMAGE as a reliable company have passed with the LaserDisc and DVD boom. I don't trust them.
