Not even selling a thousand yet is probably a bad sign. Did Deathstalker manage it because it's a movie more people wanted or because it was bundled with the sequel? In my case I just wanted the first, but who knows.

Best I would hope for from that experiment is more trash fantasy. Barbarian Queen please!

I'm hoping it's Demonic, I haven't bought it yet because I thought with him becoming a more recognized director, it'd get a U.S. release just based on his name alone and it would fit with IFC Midnight
Dead Silence is the more likely option though, just because it's the more well known of the likely options.

Demonic's US distribution rights belong to Dimension Films, and much like how they handled All the Boys Love Mandy Lane or Clown, they'll probably just keep it on a shelf for a few years before finally giving it a limited theatrical release followed by a Blu-Ray. Maybe not seven years like Mandy Lane, but two or three seems probable.

Scream Factory have been replying to lots off Facebook comments. Every suggestion is getting shot down, and they've said their 2017 schedule isn't going to be as good as what they released last year. Really hope a miracle occurs and they get some new deals. The future doesn't sound too good for the company.

I've slowly lost hope in Scream Factory lately. Not a fan of all these re-releases and their disk problems they've been having lately. I guess it's a good thing there's still tons of SF titles I'm behind on to hold me over for a while. But you're right. It's not looking good for their future. IMO.

I have been given this quote from Scream Factory - the moderator himself to pass this on to you all who think Scream is going to demise
And I quote :

"Please tell the guys at BD.com to not prematurely predict our demise in 2017 the first day of the new year and just because I shot down some requests on Facebook. That's rather rushing to panic quickly and we're a little disappointed to that even come up. We still have many months ahead of us"

They arent going anywhere okay Scream Factory fans ! (or haters)

I wasn't panicking, only stating my opinion. I absolutely love Scream Factory and as I have previously said they're my favourite blu-ray company. They've made the blu-ray format so exciting for horror fans and cult film lovers. I wish them all the best for the future, and think it's great they visit this forum. I'll be continuing to show my support. Very much looking forward to the Poltergeist 2/3 special features!

Cyborg (Van Damme) Collector's Edition please 😉

Well your opinion of "It's not looking good for their future" may or may not sound like a panic but the comment I was told to write on their behalf was to acknowledge anyone commenting between *stating an opinion* and *a panic* Your "favourite" label isnt going anywhere

If this is for real I find it hilarious, sorry. Don't worry Scream. We Trust you. At least I do.

Anyways my first movie from them was Terrorvision/Videodead. Was pumped to hear a title that was never on DVD come out, let alone on blu, plus I really liked it. I was really impressed with the Blu ray menu, and really like the clips going on in the background of menu. I ordered when it fist came out, and started collecting other titles by them from that point on. If anything, Scream Factory are the ones that got me in to horror more so than any other label by far.

Since for almost three years now of collecting, buying, watching these titles and being turned on to unknown gems, I commend and thank Scream Factory for their hard and good work. No doubts in my mind 2017 will be another great year by them. Now just bring on Tales From The Hood Collectors Edition please.

Yeah, I didn't exactly say they were going anywhere either. I just don't like what I've been seeing from them lately that's all. I'm still a fan and like I said there's lots of titles I still have to catch up on. I think anyone that would wish they go down or any other company for that matter is crazy. We SHOULD hope for all these labels to do well and put out all the titles we love.

You mean they had to have you comment for them rather than posting a response themselves?

I could be mistaken, but some SF reps did post here, but the ire really got way out of hand at times. So they don't post here as much.
I don't know if it's coincidence, but it is what it is. If that is the reason, I can't say I blame them.

Wait, Shout/Scream Factory themselves actually said their 2017 lineup "isn't going to be as good" as last year? I find that hard to believe... That just seems like a crazy thing for any company to say about their own products, even if it's the truth, like... that's the opposite of what you'd want to be doing if internally the company knows its upcoming slate isn't filled with product as solid and/or exciting on its own. You'd want to hype them up and make them seem even more special rather than basically going, "Yeah, sorry guys but we're just gonna be putting out crap this year."

If Scream Factory did actually make a comment about their 2017 releases (Which I somewhat doubt at this point) I feel like that comment could be more in reference to the number of releases. I expect fewer this year but potentially bigger names. I wouldn't be surprised if they've gotten into the Paramount Catalog on some level and there are still a few gems in the Fox catalog worth pursuing as well. These may have cost them more money to get, meaning fewer titles overall, but the quality of the projects may be better than 2016 (which I personally consider a lesser year than 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015). All of this is pure speculation though so we'll just have to see what they have in store for us before passing judgement.

I've no issues with more obscure titles being released (fingers crossed for Enemy Territory and Rolling Vengeance, the MGM catalogue still has some life left in it). I just hope the issues with Ben and Willard aren't insurmountable.

I'd love to see Scream Factory mine the Paramount catalog. I can think of dozens of titles off the top of my head that would fit the line nicely (Many of which would be new to Blu-Ray). April Fool's Day, The Dead Zone, The Fan, Silver Bullet, Let's Scare Jessica to Death, The Possession of Joel Delaney, Prophecy, The Keep, Fire in the Sky, Body Parts, and Breakdown.

Doesent look like we'll be seeing any Paramount titles any time soon either.

A collector's edition of Event Horizon would be great as well.

Not worried one bit. SF isn't going anywhere; they may slow down somewhat but they ain't goin' nowhere. 2016 was a banner year for them (The Thing and Carrie alone deserve some kind of award) and despite some issues (Black Christmas) they are definitely in the game for the long haul. Cliff, I know you read these forums: please consider Collector's Editions of Stick (1985) and Iceman (1984).
