Yeah, the original artwork isn't very appealing.

I wonder why this keeps dropping? The Four Skulls of Jonathan Drake has been dropping as well but not as often, it's down to $15.93.
that is strange, I typically don't see that with new Scream titles-- I wish it would continue with other upcoming releases..... I'd pre-order all the time if a trend like this continues....

I wonder if they sold out of their limited edition exclusives of Up From The Depths and The Velvet Vampire during the sale. I can't find them on Scream Factory's website anymore. However, Time Walker and Message From Space are still there.

Very strange to see on New Release Scream Factory stuff.

And Angry Red Planet has dropped again since I posted, it's down to $13.55. Maybe it'll be $10 by next Tuesday. Really crazy how much this has come down, it was $27.99 when the pre-order went live, typically they stop around $18-20 from what I've seen.

Just recited the first half of my second order and Motel He'll came all mangled. Funny thing is it looks like they just resealed it and shipped it. Emailed shout for a replacement. Does anybody know if I'll have to send it back andnif so will I have to pay for shipping?

Just finished Swamp Thing and boy was that disappointing. What the HELL was that final act. Maybe repeat viewings will make the kitchiness click.

Barbau is still absolutely gorgeous in the bonus feature. Interesting that she hated the film herself!

Barbeau is a Goddess. I'm not a Swamp Thing fan either but it's a shame her infamous nude scene isn't on that release.

The one reason I never let go of my old MGM dvd before they recalled it. This is the only version I'll ever watch

I usually flip to the theatrical if I have the slip, but I don't if my copy doesn't have one.

For the record, my favorite Shout Factory covers are Mad Max, The Fog, Halloween II, Streets of Fire, Black Christmas, Return of the Living Dead, and Carrie (Shout! exclusive edition).

I'm double-posting from the dedicated thread for this movie, since a few people here have expressed curiosity...

I just finished watching my Scream Factory Blu-ray of Womens Prison Massacre.

My enthusiasm for exploring 1970s and early 1980s grindhouse drive-in cinema occasionally takes me to some truly strange places. I remember seeing a newspaper ad for this movie when it played at my local small town drive-in theater during the early 1980s, and, naturally, the title captured my imagination. As it turns out, Womens Prison Massacre is not quite as fun as one might expect from from a movie with this title, but it does have its share of interesting moments.

The beautiful Laura Gemser, who starred as the same character, Emanuelle, in a number of Italian films during the 1970s stars in the role again, this time as a news reporter who has been framed and falsely imprisoned for drug smuggling due to her investigation of a corrupt political official. Emanuelle finds herself in a grimy women's prison run by sadistic guards and a cruel warden, played by Lorraine De Selle (Wild Beasts, The House on the Edge of the Park).

All hell breaks loose at this women's prison when four murderous male prisoners are temporarily housed there after their bus wrecks while they're being transported to death row. The male prisoners quickly take charge after killing a guard, and they proceed to amuse themselves while authorities outside the prison walls orchestrate a violent takedown. A few of the women prisoners are not quite as helpless as the men imagine, though, and the tables are soon turned.

Womens Prison Massacre lacks the irreverent sleazy charm of the 1970s Roger Corman women-in-prison movies that starred Pam Grier, it's a little too icky for my tastes, its English-dubbed dialogue is cringe-worthy, and, like so many other Italian exploitation films, it has a matter-of-fact blankness to it that makes me uncomfortable, but I was engaged and entertained once the plot got going with the prison takeover. The final half of the film is actually pretty riveting and suspenseful. There's nudity and violence to be seen, but I'm thankful that most of the violence is implied, rather than shown outright. The violence that is shown is so cartoonish that it never really disturbed me. I'm not a better person for having watched this, but I'm glad that I satisfied my curiosity at long last. This is the cinematic equivalent of the Heart Attack Grill.

This Shout Factory Blu-ray has decent picture quality and audio quality, but this is not a title that is going to convert any DVD holdouts to the world of high definition Blu-ray.

There are no special features or extras. Too bad, because I'd love to have seen an interview with Lorraine De Selle. I know that most of the dudes crush on Laura Gemser, and for good reason, but I personally prefer Lorraine De Selle.

On a final note, the title, Womens Prison Massacre, lacks the apostrophe in the title frame, so I'm naming it as such, instead of "Women's Prison Massacre" just to keep it real. The grammatical error is intentional, in other words.

I like The Velvet Vampire a lot. The odd setting for a vampire story really works in the film's favor.

Really good description of this film and you hit on a few of my personal opinions as well. I much rather view things than have implications in movies but there is a lot of of implied circumstances in this film. Also, for men to be lose in a womens prison this was really tame imo.

I was surprised at how little I liked this one. May try it again, but I had just watched Reform School Girls and The Big Doll House both of which I really enjoyed and WPM just did not do anything for me. The awful dubbing did not help. Though the
[Show spoiler] razor blade scene was inventive if nothing else

Is it possible to cancel an item from a Scream Factory order if it hasn't shipped yet?

I bought The Thing, but it's backordered. Will they let me cancel that item, it's part of a larger order which is all backordered.

I know SF weren't happy with the initial response to these exclusives, but to have moved 1,000 copies in about 9 months isn't a bad result, in my opinion.
