I bet you don’t have an account with them because they send you email notices on their orders. Every order since July is still showing on mine.

Or their system is just faulty.

I DO have an account with them, and only about 2/3s of my orders the past 2 years have come with an email when they've actually shipped. Most recently, my CREEPSHOW with litho/poster, and THE THING with litho did not have an email shipment confirmation. Or at least not one that ever made it to my inbox.

Which is fine, since it's not that much harder for me to just check my account/order history when I THINK something should have shipped, but...

-Upgrade the cases. Viva Elites were the bare minimum for a collectors line. Recent releases have all been coming in a variety of other style cases though, all, of which are arguably lesser quality. Want to be considered premium? Upgrade the physical presentation. Use Criterion/Arrow style cases and like Nightbreed/Creepshow, use special chipboard boxes or other thicker packaging for the truly special editions.

-Start including booklets with the original pressings instead of trying to gouge collectors for $70 by including a Neca figure.

-Stop the whole "order from us and get a free poster" act. Include the Posters in the first pressing run the way Arrow does and call it a day. Folded posters included inside the case are unfortunately folded yes, but they aren't mangled to shit by mishandling and they don't require any other special consideration when shipping, thus saving Scream Factory money.

-Increase the MSRP on a per title basis while still negotiating with individual retailers. $34.95 - $39.95 MSRP's mean some retailers will sell at or close to that amount. Other retailers will sell titles at a discounted rate of $19.99 - $34.99 depending on the title and it's MSRP. Yeah higher prices suck, but if I can actively shop around to the retailer of my choice, use gift cards to off set higher prices, and have the knowledge that not all titles are going to be priced at the high end of the scale, I can probably forgive the few the are. Get Shorty and Creepshow as they were released do not offer the same level of presentation. Don't act like all products are created equal. Want me to buy from your own storefront and not a different retailer? Give me a real incentive to do so. Arrow Points are but one example of how to do this. Another easier example? Free shipping on a $35 purchase, not $50.

-If you're going to increase prices across the board then you also have to work with retail partners to have actual sales. Look at what Arrow does in the UK and emulate that. At the bare minimum look at what Criterion does and copy that. Even better, work with select retailers to offer a special sale where titles are marked down 50 - 60% off. Sales like this encourage me to overspend and pick up everything I can as opposed to just deciding that I'm probably never going to purchase a particular title from Shout Factory. I never would have purchased the Strangers had it not been on sale in a Best Buy location for $13.99.
Some great points here.

I'm hanging on to my pre-order of Candyman, only because I was able to lock in a $25 price on it at Amazon (which, to me, is still awfully high, but I mean... it's better than $35 right? )

After that, I'm done supporting Scream Factory until they can sort their crap out.

Well I’ll be honest, I really don’t care about anyone else’s shipping issues, just trying to shed some light with every other post being negative. Which is why I post my own personal experience, this is every order through Shout since July.

RoTLD2 - arrived 12 days before release date

The Exorcist 2 (once shipping issues began) - arrived 8 days before release date. No issue with exclusive poster.

House on Haunted Hill - arrived 15 days before release date, no issue with exclusive poster.

City Slickers - arrived 7 days before release date, no issue with exclusive poster (the “shaky” special features total BS)

Shocktober order of 5 films - arrived 5 days later.

Shocktober order of 8 films - was back ordered a month, sent me 7 with one movie still on back order. No big deal to me

Creepshow - arrived 10 days before release date (2.0 audio sounds better anyway)

Single White Female - arrived 4 days before release date

Sleepwalkers - arrived day of release, no issue with exclusive poster

The Thing Steelbook - arrived day of release, lithograph in great condition

Candyman & Urban Legend - received email notice of delay, release date is Tuesday

The Critters Collection - currently processing no emails of delays.

On the subject of Shout deleting user comments on social media - that's absolutely despicable. Erase all the negative info and keep only the good ones. I wish I could do that with my credit report.

Or grab the Arrow release for the same amount that has much better packaging with it.

Of course they did. Same way they delete negative comments as well. It's a shame they've fallen so hard as I really was a big fan of theirs. I'm even thinking of replacing some the SF titles I have with the Arrow UK counter parts (The Thing, Carrie ect..).

It wouldn't surprise me that the Scream Factory individuals can't divulge specifics especially if a higher up made specific financial decisions. I'm sure they wouldn't want to risk pissing off that individual and/or risking their job. Not saying it's right nor do I agree with their approach to simply deleting the posts. They could simply state publicly that they can't get into specifics, blah, blah, blah and leave it at that anytime someone posts, but deleting posts simply begs for more people to post the same question and alienates customers. However, they've made their bed so they're have to deal with whatever the ramifications come in the future.

I just noticed “The Glenn Miller Story” is $15 on Amazon. A Shout release under $30? It’s a miracle.

I've been doing that ever since I got my region free player a year or so ago. The added bonus is how cheap they are during an Arrow UK sale and how much the SF editions sell on ebay because of some silly slipcover

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, so I won't bash yours. However, that "schmuck" is a regular guy that opened up a genre-first video store in TAMPA. Have you ever been there? It's the taint of a state generally known as "America's penis", and not a place that one opens a business that caters to horror fans if they're in it to make a good living. It's clearly a labour of love, and while you don't have to side with or feel sorry for him, he's pretty far from an average "schmuck".

Finally Mangler uncut and in 4K and all that.

Since Perfect Blue is coming from Shout/Gkids, who thinks they should put it on the Scream label?

Per Gkids on Twitter

"Hi, this is sadly not real at this point. We handled the theatrical release but a home video release here remains speculative. We have asked RS to remove the listing"

https://twitter.com/GKIDSfilms/statu...75596841594880

https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/bbs....php?t=3088666

And no, if and when "Perfect Blue" does get announced at Shout!. I don't think it should be on the Scream side of things.

Yeah. Too bad it's the wrong film to discount They're probably not moving many copies of this one.
