I used to hear that Scream/Shout would ship pre-orders 2 weeks before street date. Is that still the case?

I got my order of The Dead Zone (street date tomorrow 7/27/21) exactly 1 week early on 7/20/21. It's sort of hit or miss if you do.

IIRC, they did that with Candyman. Arrow announced there’s as UK only and Scream said they didn’t have it only to announce it, I believe, the next day.

Not saying that’ll happen here but I just want them Elm Street 4Ks.

At this rate we will probably have to wait til 2024.

Hey all. So I've kinda slept on a bunch of these until recently. Would anyone have reccs on which John Carpenter movies to prioritize if I wanna try to snag em before they go OOP? Don';t particularly care about The Fog or AoP13 or Starman, but I think probably all the others

Huh. At every horror-related forum/community I've been a part of, New Nightmare is usually in everyone's Top 3 ANoES films.

The Thing, Big Trouble In Little China, Halloween

I don’t know though, I’m still trying to comprehend not caring for The Fog

Body Bags, In the Mouth of Madness, Prince of Darkness, Village of the Damned and maybe Vampires. Pretty much everything else is going to see another release in one form or another and won't ever go out of print for long. Personally I recommend you start with In the Mouth of Madness.... Do you read Sutter Cane?

I see. I didn't pay enough attention to whole thing to realize that "leak" was just another coming from a retailer putting it up early, I do know that's happened a ton previously.

With how SF reacted I assumed there was something more to it with that one.

oh i dunno! just saw a post re: army of darkness being OOP on here recently that made me realize i should just snag these while they're still gettable. i am not as up on blus as some of my other hobbies so I don't really have a good sense of what's likely to stick around, etc

Yeah I dunno, it just didn't do much for me! I dug the soundtrack though!

expected to love it but as much as I love Carpenter when he IS working for me, sometimes he weirdly doesnt!

like he's one of my favorite directors honestly, but Precinct 13 just feels nasty to me and doesn't have much atmosphere, Starman kinda whatever other than the 2 leads, and yeah The Fog was fine? I should probably give it another go, maybe this Halloween hmm.

but i legit LOVE all the other movies of his that I've seen, including Escape from LA! just one of those things i guess lol

Did Craven get the rights to the Krueger character back at some point?. After the first movie did well, and the sequels started, he was unhappy that he didn't keep the rights to the character. He didn't expect it to be that big.

Well, based on my limited experiences with both of them, Zolly and DotD just might be the same person. In any case, I have no use for either one. YMMV.
