Partially because of free shipping I can get em cheaper from Amazon but am concerned about whether or not they'll have slipcovers and Amazon's tendency to ship out media that is in wrecked condition. But then again I don't know how good of condition titles ordered from SF tend to arrive in cuz I've never ordered from them before.
you're not getting "screwed" on slipcovers... you have the choice to pay a few bucks more when the titles come out and then for sure you get one... if you cheap out and wait forever you're really not entitled to them...

Yeah, I don't get how someone would think they are getting "screwed". You're talking about movies that came out almost 3 years ago in some cases. You're not guaranteed anything.

And, what makes it more shifty is the crazy slipcover people that order copies from places like Amazon with the sole purpose of stealing the slipcover and then returning the item guaranteeing that the next person doesn't get one. Some do it to sell, some do it because the one they originally got has a tiny ding on it.

I get OCD, but above all, I'm glad I never got obsessed with slipcovers. Honestly, I have saved the scream factory ones that I have, but they are in a box. I don't even display them with the slipcover. Maybe I'll sell mine someday.

FWIW, I just got Prince of Darkness from Amazon with slip a couple of weeks ago. It wasn't in perfect shape, but it was pretty good.

If that source is Bill, then he pretty much labels anyone who is more succesful than him as 'rich'. This includes the likes of Vinegar Syndrome and Synapse.

what would really be great is having the MOD's transfer all slip cover questions to one thread.. that way everyone can laugh at the combined total of "does this come with a slip cover" questions on a daily basis!

same hear. i hate slips ordinarily, beacuse its more trouble to get to the disc, and the art is just redundant. but the scream ones on the CEs are nice because they can display a completely different cover if you flip the inserts. so thats a nice touch. any other slip covers, i just generally don't care for.

So i watched The Battery and i thought it wasn't that great. Why do people like this movie so much? I found it really slow with a really bad ending..

Yeah, same here. I use slips when they're different from the inside artwork. Iron Man and Penny Dreadful are two other examples. Otherwise I put them in a drawer.

Even for Scream ones though I don't really care much. If I got a disc in the mail without one I would just pick a cover and put it on the shelf. The disc is what really matters.

Too bad blu-ray.com doesn't have a slipcover forum.

Oh wait...it does:

https://forum.blu-ray.com/forumdisplay.php?f=157

I guess it's too bad the slipnuts can't be bothered to read more than one page of this thread (if they did, they wouldn't ask the same question four times per day) or be bothered to actually use the slipcover thread.

And it's a legitimate question: Why do the mods allow this increasing cascade of slipcover questions when a slipcover forum exists?

Most of the topics involving Scream releases on the entire message board have been rendered useless by these off-topic slip discussions.

There's honestly so much slip-cover hysteria on here it would be a full time job to move all of it to that sub-forum.

Just a heads up. I ordered The Funhouse from the recent sale at Shout and it came without a slipcover, though YMMV.
