You are right in the sense that part of my enjoyment is in its unintentional humor, but it has endearing factors as well. Also, it actually tries to be something interesting and different. J2, to me, didn't try anything at all. It just sort of is. I'd much rather support an ambitious failure than celebrate the achievement of mediocrity. If I want to enjoy something like Jaws, I watch Jaws. Not Jaws 2. I'd swear it off entirely, but I loves me that sweet, sweet Scheider.

It was released on its own (I own it) but it was released before they made the Scream Factory line.

Looks like you missed one. How strange and unnecessary is this?

Do we really need three ways to buy these films? This is something I could see Echo Bridge doing.
I don't get why they are releasing a double feature and a triple feature. But on second thought I don't get how they are going to fit all 3 movies on one disc. Maybe they might drop the special features or drop a couple of audio tracks.

In case anyone was wondering for the individual releases Dead Soul was on a 50GB disc while Remains and Chilling Visions were both on 25GB discs each. Granted I am not sure how much empty space was left on each disc.

All the Jaws sequels get a one star from me, but a one star movie in the right context can be fun or nostalgic. Jaws 2 isn't fun for me, it's just bad.

I've always liked Jaws 2. Haven't really seen the other sequels.

I hated Jaws 2 so much i never bothered with the next door. It's just boring and dull in my opinion.

I asked them about these releases on Facebook and they replied saying that at present they are only planned for release in US branches of Walmart and not online, it's therefore strange that Amazon.ca have them listed.

As dumb as it is, Jaws III is the only sequel I enjoy. Perhaps its because its the one that can almost stand apart entirely from the original. Yes, Michael and Sean Brody are characters in the film and there are very brief mentions of their dad and Amity Island but it doesn't constantly reference and rehash elements from the original like 2 and 4 did.

Actually, it's not uncommon.

For whatever reason, Canadian retailers never seem to get the exclusives that their American parents get.

So Blu-rays which are exclusive to a specifc chain of stores in the U.S. can often be found at different retailers in Canada. It doesn't happen in every case but it does happen with some frequency.

Hell yes to Split Second!! Right now that movie and Critters are the top two films I would love SF to get the rights to. After thinking about Split Second for a moment it would be great if Shout got the rights to another Rutger Hauer film, Blind Fury.

The part where the
[Show spoiler]shark gets rotoscoped to be neon orange when it gets zapped
is so funny it almost makes the rest of the movie worthwhile, though.

My understanding is that while they have the same store name Canadian versions are often run by different people and function more or less autonomously.

If Shout Factory was smart they would get the rights to Hammer Horror and start a multi-volume Blu-ray set, it would sell as good if not better than their Vincent Price Collection.
They could bust them up the way they did the Vicent Price sets with a great film mix with an average Hammer release and it would still sell.

Just 2 cents that would make Shout Factory some big dollars and if they can finagle the studio's to bring together the Halloween series they surely could obtain the U.S. rights to these wonderful Hammer films.

I'm sure if Scream could do a Hammer set they would. That's a lot of licenses to juggle, and Warner has no interest in licensing things out yet.

Its not a question on being smart - its all about what they can license or not. Im sure that they would love to do some Hammer films if they could..

They could do at least four titles: Dracula POD, Frankenstein Created Woman, Legend of the 7 Golden Vampires, and Satanic Rites of Dracula. They have connections at Millenium.
