Like someone mentioned before, I would rather have booklets included than having steel books of past Blu-ray's.

I know it's with Paramount, but the DVD was released by Legend Films, meaning that Paramount don't give a rat ass about the movie. Mind you that this title is not among the titles leased to WB. It could be a one-off deal between Scream and Paramount.
That was me, mate. The only further info I've to add is that someone involved in the score rights said that they were told by the film's rights holders that they were "optimistic" for a blu-ray this year. I hinestly don't care who releases it, just get it done. Sort of surprised Criterion hasn't done it already.

While a SF steelbook would look amazing with the custom artwork they do, SF should really look into the possibility of using a Neo Case.
OMG, Neo cases, IMO, are the superior form of packaging out right now. Just look at the double dose of Gravity and Interstellar Neo Cases that released yesterday.
I would lose my mind to see a SF EFNY, or Mad Max, heck even Sleepaway Camp in a Neo Case!
Their business would skyrocket!
What is a Neo Case? googled it and got nothing

It's like a much better digipak. You can find out a little more, and see some pics in this thread:

Yes. WB calls them "Diamond Lux". Sony calls them "Magno".
They are all Neo Case by design.

Neo cases feel cheap and flimsy to me, I'm not a big fan. I did get Interstellar's simply for the better cover art, but I would much rather have that art on a steelbook or even normal BD case.

LOL! Steelbooks are much more flimsier than any Neo Case. That's not even opinion. It's just how they are designed.

It is an opinion, since I disagree with it. Neo cases feel stronger when closed, but when you open them they feel super flimsy and awkward. Steelbooks do not. Not sure how else to say it.

A friend recently purchased the INTERSTELLAR neo case... and it is just a glorified, thinpak flipper case. The thing has 3 discs, and it folds out like the old ALIEN dvd collection. On top of that, the book is completely separate from the blu-ray case, which itself came in this awkward, more than a foot long cardboard sleeve that housed the book on one end and the thinpak flipper on the other. We both commented on why they didn't either just make it a digibook or a steelbook, both of which would have been a much more compact and efficient package.

But hey, if that is what you want. I'll stick with the steels and digi/mediabooks myself.

If there is a chance that "Phase IV" may be released on blu ray this year, I'd rather see Criterion release the film (including the alternate ending). It's a film that deserves the Criterion treatment.

Now that would make for a nice Scream! Factory blu-ray release. Considering that MONSTER SQUAD got a re-release (and from a prior Loinsgate release), there is at least a chance...
Monster Squad got a re-release due to Lionsgate losing the Republic Pictures catalog, which was then picked up by Olive (same thing happened with The Running Man and Cujo, off the top of my head). There still isn't really more of a chance of SF picking up The Gate (which is a shame, since I would LOVE a Blu-Ray release of that one).

Sorry if this has been brought up before, but any chance Shout/Scream made a deal with Lionsgate? They are releasing Legend of the Lone Ranger which was previously released on DVD in 2008 by Lionsgate, or is it another case where Lionsgate's rights for that particular film expired?

At this time there are no signs a deal with lionsgate has happened. Lionsgate has a ton of material people have been clamoring for for years. If a deal with Lionsgate ever happened, there would be far bigger titles announced then the Legend of the Lone Ranger.

That's an ITC title I believe. Same deal that got them Sophie's Choice.

Open closed, a steelbook is much more brittle than Neo Case. The guy that created them posted on this site, and he said they looked at all the flaws of current packaging, steelbook being one, and how flimsy they were. The Neo Case solves this problem as it's much more reinforced.
Set a 10lb weight on a steelbook, and then on a Neo Case, and let me know what happens.

Definitely what I want. Neo Case are, without a doubt the most technologically sound form of packaging on the market today. Keep 'em coming!

I believe he is referring to the singer but in all seriousness Neo cases are atrocious! Scream Factory needs to just stick with what they have going on now, standard cases with slipcovers.
