Get over it!

People talking about slip covers of Scream Factory releases are on topic in this thread. People complaining about those people aren't really.

So does feedback and suggestions:

Now, speaking of Scream Factory, my copy of Curse/ Curse 2 just arrived today, nicely ahead of street date.

Slipcovers.....that's all I just wanted to mention SLIPCOVERS!!!!

Seriously half the posts are of guys whining about people talking about slip covers. Your taking up just as much thread space.

I think they announce titles too far ahead so now we sit around waiting for something...anything. It's been dead lately.

The Curse is a nice upgrade! They fixed the framing issue from MGM's DVD. And Curse 2 was just a videotape-y transfer before this, so that's an even more massive upgrade:

More comparison shots of both Curses here; but it's a big difference over the DVD.

Thanks! I can't believe they fixed the ratio for The Curse, fantastic news. The transfer for The Bite looks awful, but at least it's uncut and an upgrade over the washed-out German DVD.

Yeah, the blacks are through the roof, but brighter daylight scenes look fine:

So it seems like we're just getting 3 retro titles in May, which is the lightest month in that regard for a while. I'd suggest they might be slowing down, but to be fair, there are also 3 modern titles, as well as Nighthawks and Bad Influence in the Shout line, both of which might well have qualified for the Scream line in a broad sense (certainly borderline).

Lady in White is already confirmed for June, and it's probable we might also get Return of the Living Dead then (or July). Those are the only remaining known titles without a release date, which would suggest we're due at least a couple of announcements this month.

Those HD caps for The Curse look fantastic. It's like breathing new life into someone who has been declared brain dead . The fact they're using the original art on the cover is icing on the cake. The art on the MGM double feature DVD was ugly as f**K as usual. It's amazing how much something as trivial as cover art can make a huge difference. I know most people don't care about such things but to me artwork is every bit as important as the film.

I have a solution to slipcover problem. How about we just do away with slip covers all together. Then just pass the cost savings to the customer. That way we don't have to hear people cry about getting a slip cover or not. "Lets Make Scream Factory Great Again"

Once again, ask 10 people what they think of any given release and you'll get comments from the full spectrum of "I don't notice" to "It's the worst thing since Auschwitz". At this point I don't know why any of these conversations bother anyone. The Scream Factory thread is and has always been a catch all thread for multiple topics, even more so when there aren't any new announcements or exciting collectors editions on the horizon.
Couldn't agree more

Bummed that I didn't go with Blood and Black Lace this week.

I think I can put together an order with Evilspeak and Gravy to get free shipping.

Does someone want to scare me or sell me on these titles?

I already own Assault on Precinct 13 (Image entertainment) and Final Exam (Scorpion releasing) on DVD.

I can't speak for Gravy, but seeing the trailer put me off of it. The comedy aspect seemed a bit too try hard for my liking. Some people dig that though!

I ordered Evilspeak, Final Exam and The Slumber Party Massacre.

I just watched Evilspeak. I liked it. I don't know that I liked it enough to need to own it. It's a solid watch with some decent gore. I like the premise if not the final execution.

I can't help but feeling it wasn't as good as it could have been even from a kitschy 80's perspective when you're talking about a movie about a kid using an Apple II to summon the devil. The computer aspects almost seemed tacked on as if it was a half fleshed out idea that was originally meant to appeal to 80's youth who were interested in computers and video games as new technology.

And, it's one of those movies that if you can't handle depicted violence against animals, you might be turned off.
