I don't believe there have been any deals with Fox for several years now. So unless a new deal is struck, that one doesn't look like it will happen any time soon. With that said a new set of all "Fly" films is/was being released in Australia so it's very possible a similar set may see state side release in the future, or at the very least that The Fly 2 could see release.

Oh yeah, I agree on this! But Mary Shelly’s Frankenstein has often been considered the twin brother to Bram Stoker's Dracula (Coppola), and we got a new release for this one in 2015 by Sony, so maybe Sony will do a Special Edition for Frankenstein as well someday...

MS' Frankenstein is nowhere near as popular though, and has never had supplements to port over. I'd love an SE of it but it seems much mess likely.

Fly 2 seems like a no-brainer for Fox to license to someone. Surprised it hasn't happened yet.

Does anybody know if Texas Chainsaw Massacre Part 2 is supposed to come with a slipcover? Mind didn't, just curious.

The Vagrant coming May 23!

https://www.shoutfactory.com/film/fi...or/the-vagrant

Still ecstatic Scream are upgrading this, one of my favourites. Wonder if we can expect any more for May? The Angry Red Planet is likely, but I think most of us are hoping for Ben and Willard.

It came with a slipcover when it was initially released. YMMV if it still comes with one.

I love the Vagrant. Getting day one for sure. Plus it's got Bill Paxton, can't go wrong. He's great
Who has rights to Critters franchise? Would love to see a nice set of those.

John Waters' SERIAL MOM (1994) due May 9th!

Quote:
**SURPRISE TITLE ANNOUNCEMENT**
“Pussywillows” will be blooming this Spring! We’re beyond thrilled to reveal that we are releasing John Waters’ hysterical 1994 dark comedy SERIAL MOM on May 9th as a Collector’s Edition Blu-ray! (And right before Mother’s Day, of course ;-) )
Mr. Waters has been very involved in our strategy, which we couldn’t be more grateful for. The newly-designed artwork you see here (from The CRP Group—who also did Rabid and Firestarter recently) has his blessing. The original theatrical art will be on the reverse.

Extras are also set in stone :
• NEW! – An exclusive conversation with Director John Waters, actress Kathleen Turner and actress Mink Stole. (30 mins+) (We’ll add that this is a must-see for fans of the film! Very fascinating to see them in the same room reminiscing.)
• Serial Mom: Surreal Moments – featuring interviews with Waters, Stole, Actress Patricia Hearst, actress Ricki Lake, actor Matthew Lillard, casting director Pat Moran, production designer Vincent Pirano & more!
• Feature commentary with Waters and Turner
• Feature commentary with Waters
• The Making Of Serial Mom – original promotional featurette
• The Kings Of Gore: Herschel Gordon Lewis and David Friedman featurette
• Original theatrical trailer

Pre-order directly from us @ https://www.shoutfactory.com/…/seria...s-editi… and receive the Blu-ray two weeks early. Plus, if you act fast, you’ll also get a 18” x 24” rolled poster of the new artwork (Limited, while supplies last. Only 500 produced.)

This is huge news to me! I have quite a soft spot for this movie. And I was JUST searching out a copy of the old Blu-ray... so glad I didn't find one.

However, I hate that cover.

Given that Slither, Tales from the Hood, and Serial Mom were consistently denied by Scream until recently it now seems very likely that another such title, Matinee, is probably part of this new deal with Universal (and I'd expect a new 2K scan for that one, given that they'd probably want to improve on the Arrow release).

Aside from that, there aren't many relevant 60s-90s Universal titles without a US Blu-ray release (I doubt we'll see all of these btw, and surely only Matinee and possibly the Darkman sequels might get the CE treatment):

Shadow of the Cat (1961)
The Night Walker (1964)
Dark Intruder (1965)
Island of Terror (1966)
Let's Kill Uncle (1966)
Games (1967)
The Projected Man (1967)
Eye of the Cat (1969)
Colossus: The Forbin Project (1970)
Burned at the Stake (AKA The Coming) (1981) (not sure if this is still with Universal)
Bullies (1986)
Matinee (1993)
No Escape (1994)
Darkman 2 (1995)
Darkman 3 (1996)

* I haven't included some high-profile TV movies, like Killdozer (1974), Buried Alive (1990), I'm Dangerous Tonight (1990), and When A Stranger Calls Back (1993). There are also 2000s titles obviously:

Terror Tract (2000)
Long Time Dead (2002)
My Little Eye (2002)
Cry Wolf (2005)
Altered (2006)
The Hitcher (2007)
Whisper (2007)

Of course I've no idea what remaining Universal titles there are in this current deal, but given the relative scraps left (I mean no offence to the films in question, just being realistic) I'd be surprised if Scream went back in for another deal once this is completed (unless there are some notable previously-released Universal titles on the table). I expect they already have the remaining 90s titles along with a few of the 00s ones. Some of the late 60s stuff seems possible, though I guess it might depend on how well the likes of I Saw What You Did performed.

I really hope Shout! releases Matinee. A criminally underrated film.

I will buy Cry Wolf if they release it. Asked for this from SF many times The Hitcher (2007) has a release already. Unless it's OOP now? I know I have a copy.

That Hitcher release was Canadian. It hasn't been released in the US.

Indeed it is. And if Shout releases it, it would be great if they included the full-length version of "MANT!" as a bonus feature.

I wonder why Universal didn't just put that on their Hammer boxset. Either way I'll add it to the list, thanks.
