Still shocked there's no Tremors remaster announcement. That would've been one of their best yet.

now that's a good example of something that I'd be happy to rebuy as a collector's edition..... the current blu is awful!

Yeah that was one if the very few titles I would gave double dipped. Seems like that one should have been a no brainer.

I hope that EYE OF THE CAT will have both the theatrical and longer TV versions.

I hope that MATINEE will have the MANT! film as a separate featurette.

Cyborg and Misery are the only two that really light my fire here, and I own the MGM releases of both. We'll see what Scream manage to offer I suppose.

I would e-mail them. I e-mailed them last Sunday and then on Tuesday when I received my response from them my order was suddenly en route. I received my package on Thursday. Hopefully you'd have a similar experience.

They release plenty of obscure stuff. It's the shitty double dips that enable them to do so. We wouldn't have something like Windows or Deranged if they weren't making some dough from a Child's Play or a Dawn of the Dead.

Ok I enjoy Land of the Dead, and the Dawn remake is amazing. But you really think Land is a better film than The Strangers, Drag Me to Hell or Misery?
And finally getting a CE of Silent Night Deadly Night
Great line up.

Earlier this year at Monsterpalooza, I spoke to one of the co-creators of the Scream Factory brand and asked about whats going on with Paramount. His exact words were that they've been knocking on their door for years, but they're just not budging. He seemed pretty sincere. Its interesting because Paramount hates their slasher titles. They should just give them up.

Most of you guys seems pissed about the recently announced titles, but of of all of them, Silent Night Deadly Night is truly a big deal. Love the film or hate it, it has never been given the treatment it deserves. It caused quite a controversy for its time and represents the point at which the studio-distributed slasher films "crossed the line" by desecrating a Christian holiday (Tristar was pressured to sell the film). It pretty much put an end to the golden era of slasher films (which was already on an decline).

Despite this, all previous releases of the film on DVD lacked any special treatment. Even the highly regarded Arrow Video botched their DVD release of the film by not doing anything additional for it. Instead, they basically regurgitated the Anchor Bay DVD but with a booklet. When the blu-ray came out, although we got a commentary track, it was just an upscale of the DVD even though an HD print was already circulating in theaters and VOD. How pathetic.

Unfortunately, this comes a little too late as the director has since passed, but I'm really interested in who they drudge up for interviews. Pretty groundbreaking for Silent Night Deadly Night fans, as well as slasher fans. Hopefully the dig up the Dead Pit radio interview with Charles Sellier which from what I remember, had some great bits of information in it.

Another sucky thing is that Lilyan Chauvin (the oh so despicable Mother Superior) passed away a few years back too, so they'll have to find archival interviews with her.

Robert Brian Wilson (Billy) might be up for it. Hell, I would love to see some goofy "family reunion" video (think like the Palmer family reunion featurette on the Twin Peaks set) where he shoots the shit with Eric Freeman.

Silent Night Deadly Night is a big deal I agree. It unfortunately was sandwiched between a bunch on unnecessary re-releases for films that already have stellar video presentations and extras, and a collection of other films that all but a select few probably aren't interested in so the announcement is very much lost in the crowd. I have no doubt that the buzz for this film will increase dramatically over the coming weeks when it can separate itself from the other 9 titles.

SNDN is the kind of release that folks want and are ok with as far as double dips are concerned. A full slate of that caliber of announcements would have gone over much better.

I really, really, really, REALLY hope Shout! releases The Terminator with the original mono in lossless form. There is hope since they are releasing collectors editions from MGM films.

I'm in for Silent Night, Deadly Night. All it would need to be an improvement over the Anchor Bay release is an actual HD transfer...

Yeah the AB release is horrible. Glad it's finally getting the release it deserves.
