I believe Kino has all but confirmed Deep Star Six; unless SF somehow obtained it. As much of an 80s horror fan as I am, I somehow missed Superstition. Any good?

With these new 4K scans -- I wish they'd allow us to just purchase the disc instead of the steelbook. I hate steelbooks.

I believe the Kino Insider confirmed Deep Star Six was with StudioCanal. I'd be very surprised if Scream didn't pick it up as part of their package, looking at those titles I'd say it's among the more frequently requested.

As for other hints, Walt has confirmed that The Seduction is coming, just remains to be see if it's from Kino or Scream (kind of seems like a title Jeff might like). There is also this post from babybreese, where he says in relation to Scream Factory that 'some titles are coming direct from Hammer, as well as some from SC.' I'd be surprised if they licenced all 9 (it's not like they'll be wanting for Hammer titles, given they likely still have many from the Hammer deal and apparently a couple from Warner Bros), so maybe Kino will pick up the slack.

Wow, Superstition. I’m in. The fact it’s not a CE means it should have a mildly digestible price come time to make a preorder, perfect. I’ve got unrealistic high hopes for this Studio Canal deal.

I'll take Deep Star Six either way, though I've gotten to where I prefer the cheaper Kino packages. I know Kino didn't deny Extreme Prejudice, Narrow Margin, or Deep Star Six. Hopefully we see all three this year.

Thanks for the list Barndoor! Not familiar with most of the titles (that I can recall) but looked up a couple of the ones mentioned by others. Deepstar 100% looks like something Shout would be all over and I'd give that a blind buy as well if the price was decent. Vice Squad looks good but I can see that ending up with Kino. The Manitou is another one I've seen mentioned around here, but looks less appealing to me. The Seduction looks pretty good but again, I'd lean on Kino for this one. I'll have to look up the others later. Could be some interesting stuff in there for sure!

From what I can gather, the Kino Insider is not confirming or denying specific StudioCanal titles being with Kino at this point (unless he/she lets their guard down) - rather, the Insider is only confirming or denying if particular titles are with StudioCanal.

Obviously Extreme Prejudice or Narrow Margin wouldn't be with Scream/Shout anyway, but as the Kino Insider has been rather elusive about those two I strongly suspect they have them. To this point I can't think of a SC horror title that they'd dodged questions about. As the above shows the SC horror holdings aren't hugely substantial (certainly not as large as Warner Bros or Sony), so I expect Kino didn't have too many to sift through after Scream took their pick (probably older and more obscure stuff, and maybe some of the Hammer titles). We shall see.

I like describing Superstition as a Canadian-made Italian horror film. It was produced in Canada but for all intents and purposes, it feels like something Argento might have had a hand in. There's high levels of gore and the music almost sounds like something Goblin would have done. It's pretty no-holds barred (no one is safe) and it's got some decent atmosphere but the story's a fairly standard 'ghost seeks revenge on family that just moved in'.

I’m liking that the films I want from Scream are $22.99.

I agree. I am not a fan of Steelbooks either. I bought "The Thing" Steelbook only because, it included the 4K remaster, and it was too good to pass up at $18.67.

It’s kinda perfect that their CE’s are being released on the same day - it will make an insane double feature.

Has KLI confirmed whether any of the Carolco/Studio Canal titles were actually available to any parties in the StudioCanal deals? Deep Star Six, like Light Sleeper, is currently streaming and on DVD by Lionsgate, so I suspect that one is off limits to all labels except Lionsgate.

I believe that pretty much any Carolco title is LG in the US.

The KLI didn't specify that Deep Star Six, Narrow Margin and other Carolco titles weren't available for licencing no, though the optimistic part of me would have thought the KLI would specify that when saying the Carolco library was with StudioCanal (though admittedly the KLI is not obliged to). Indeed, I'd say the KLI's comment on Extreme Prejudice was as close to an admission that they'd licenced the title as we're likely to get, no?

Narrow Margin '90 is Studiocanal? That one desperately needs an HD upgrade. I hope it's on Kino's radar

Dunno what Superstition even is but I am excited by a StudioCanal deal. Deep Star Six please, off the top of my head.

I hate to ask this sort of thing, but I sure wish shout/scream factory would release the complete series of Beyond Belief: Fact or Fiction.

Would love for someone to release that series as well! I remember playing along on Friday nights to guess which stories were true or not.

It's a low-budget, '80s supernatural slasher.

It's fine for what it is - might pick it up, myself - but it's been way overhyped due to its absence from blu-ray. Some folks act like it's the Holy Grail, or something, when it's really just average.

I remember people on here going apeshit for Scarecrows and then Scream talking about how nobody bought it. I think some people just like to see that kind of stuff coming to blu even if they don't plan to get it.
