You could basically say the same about any slasher (and I happen to love slashers, just for the record).

Look, we all like what we like.

Personally, I love everything horror. I love every decade and sub-genre. Some more than others, of course, but I do not think I have ever encountered a sub-genre I did not find worth watching.

I fully get that others may be more selective in taste. And that is fine.

But it really gets a bit tiresome to see these complaints everytime Scream announces another Hammer title (and I am not saying you do this, Thomas - it is more of a general observation).

Just get over it, guys. There should still be plenty of releases forthcoming catering to your taste.

Besides, it is really kind of futile, too. We all know Scream sits on a large library of Hammer titles, and as someone said above, we can probably expect at least one Hammer title a month for the next year or longer.

Sony and Eureka’s discs are already stacked with extras. Shout would add nothing. “Fright Night Part 2” has a complicated legal matter in the US that probably won’t get resolved anytime soon.

Shout isn't trolling with the sale - they're embracing the "New Year New Me" trend.

I think I've only bought directly from Shout once, about 5yrs ago when the CAD dollar was more or less equal and they had a great sale. It was something like 50% off. Got most titles around $10-15. Bunch of blind buys I wouldn't have bought otherwise and it really started the foundation of my Shout collection. Think I ordered 15 titles, maybe 20 or more. Now with the average sales, average CAD and no free shipping to Canada, it just doesn't make sense for me. Better off going through amazon with less hassle.

10 to Midnight is much more entertaining than Cobra and Silent Rage.

I said 10 to Midnight would make a good companion piece to Cobra, I never said one was "better" than the other. I find both entertaining and similar in tone, with Cobra a bit more brutal with the kills, which I assume is the reason people find it less entertaining. And if my memory is correct, the body count in Cobra is higher. I think we can all agree that all the bad guys across both films get their proper due at the hands of badass 80's icons

Never heard of Superstition but it sounds like something I'd enjoy. Might be my first blind buy of 2019! Glad to see it's not a collectors edition. Might help with the pricing.

Vice Squad would be awesome. Even an expensive Scream release would be cheaper than the OOP Anchor DVD.

Agree about the artwork but if it's not a CE that means no extras and no poster. I'd kill for a Superstition poster. Gonna have a black case ready for this one.

Also, with the StudioCanal deal, I'm curious to see what they'll release. Anyone have a good list ready to go?

Plenty of non-CE have extras. They typically just don't have as many extras as a Collectors edition although even that sometimes ends up incorrect. Witchboard for example was essentially a collectors edition without the branding/slipcover.

Can't think of many but any of these are possible:

Cannibal Apocalypse
The Manitou
Vice Squad
Near Dark

One of the biggest possibilities has to be at least "Near Dark". The Lionsgate Blu is easily one of the worst looking in my collection and if Shout could do or SC supply a new master that'd be great. As much as I'd like for SC do an UHD, I'll take anything at this point.

So far, these are the horror(ish) titles the KL Insider has confirmed to be with SC in North America:

Queen of Spades
Peeping Tom
Picture Mommy Dead
The Man Who Haunted Himself
And Soon the Darkness
Homebodies
Zoltan: Hound of Dracula
Murder by Decree
Cannibal Apocalypse
Road Games
Parasite
The Seduction
Slayground
Link
Bloodmoon
Deep-Star Six

The Horror of Frankenstein
Scars of Dracula
Blood from the Mummy's Tomb
Dr Jekyll and Sister Hyde
Lust for a Vampire
Demons of the Mind
Straight on Till Morning
Fear in the Night
To the Devil... A Daughter

He believes they've lost the NA rights to the following:

Circus of Horrors
Theatre of Death AKA Blood Fiend
Twisted Nerve
Fright
I, Monster
Fear No Evil
The Johnsons

There are likely more.

Pretty sure Near Dark is not with StudioCanal in North America (it is in Europe), though it's also possible it's no longer with Lionsgate - there were rumours that the rights had reverted to the producer(s).
