I think we can rest easy concerning Shout's decision to start releasing some newer films, especially good foreign ones that haven't had a release stateside. Now, if I see anything from those jokers from "The Asylum", that kind of junk, then we should start running for the hills.

I totally agree about The Fog being more subdued, and more about tone than a showcase of imagery. This works for The Howling, and looks friggin' awesome! I just hope The Fog keeps it simple. I did some fan art a little bit ago, that is along the simple path, so I figured I would share it here.

Maybe The Poughkeepsie Tapes is on the horizon? All the Boys Love Mandy Lane? Are there any other semi-recent ones that are still collecting dust?

The '90s are pretty much a barren wasteland for horror, so I can't see Scream Factory unearthing too many gems from that era...

That looks awesome!!!! You did a great job on that. I'd be very happy if Scream created something similar. We need a foggy look with the pirates.

I hope Scream Factory don't release All The Boys Love Mandy. I loathe that movie. It pretty much incorperates everything I dislike about alot of modern horror.

Im sorry but this is getting kind of funny. So we are at the point of complaining about what we DONT want them to release?? Haha. How about you guys just buy the releases you want and skip the ones you dont. Pretty simple. If they did Cold Prey 2 id love that as I love the series...but to say you hope they Dont release it. Thats just goofy. Just dont buy it. We bluray fans are getting a little nutty.

Exactly, that's kinda stupid to say I hope they don't release said film cause I didn't like it. no one's saying you need to buy every release they put out. Just cause some dislike one film, doesn't mean that everyone does, and some might actually want that film. But of course with most people they only think of their needs.

Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't know that I wasn't able to give my opinion and discuss things

And hows does me saying I hope they don't release something mean I'm only thinking of my own needs. It's not like they aren't going to release something just cause I say I hope they don't.

I noticed on facebook, All the Boys Love mandy Lane and Dead End ('03) were requested.

These are two very powerful, chilling, and atmospheric more contemporary movies. I really enjoyed the skillful way they were crafted in an era where many horror films weren't being treated particularly well by the industry, so many were slack jobs. This was a classic, however.

The Guardian
Children of the Night
Grim Prairie Tales
The Resurrected
Shadowzone
The Unborn

The Borrower
Mosquito
Xtro II
Body Parts
Spellcaster
The Addiction
Pet Sematary 2
The Unnameable 2
Man's Best Friend
Pledge Night
The Mangler
The Night Flier
The Dark Half
Warlock 2
Prom Night III/IV

In addition, Cliff has stated "Prom Night II" isn't in the cards which is unfortunate. I always enjoyed that flick.

I love love LOVE Prom Night 2.

My avatar is Mary Lou Malone!

Maybe he'll reconsider. He said "no" becasue he doesn't like it as he watched it too many times as a teenager at a movie theater where he worked...

He didn't like Deadly Blessing, but they put that out, so maybe...

I love PROM NIGHT II as well. Its a classic.

I also agree with the fact that ALL THE BOYS LOVE MANDY LANE needs an official American release. Lin Shaye is fantastic in DEAD END, the scene where she blows her breains out and feel her brain after hitting her head is amazing. Those are two classic/modern movies.

All the Boys Love Mandy Lane is great, but there's no chance of it getting released by Shout/Scream Factory. It's a Weinstein release.

If you're a fan of it, or just want to see it, I would highly recommend importing the UK release. It's a pretty solid blu-ray and its been super cheap on Amazon UK for a long time.

Whoops, I meant Prom Night III and IV - hard to keep track of all those sequels!

- That's about the best halfway blend of what SHOULD be done (the silhouettes) and what Scream probably will do (the hand comin' at ya! Adrian Barbeau from 1980! Oo, the cool vintage logo!)
If we get anything close to that happy-medium, the movie should be well-served. I still like MGM's DVD cover of the silhouettes only, but we should help Scream learn how to pull back from what they want to do.

I concur, Revenge of the Ninja and Pray for Death are Sho Kosugi's best 80's ninja movies. I would love to see Shout get the rights to both of these, and Pray for Death released uncut would make it even better. Don't want to sound ungrateful though. I'm super pumped for Ninja 3 as well.

I'll admit, I haven't seen very many of the movies that you listed. Some, I've avoided because the DVD's were full screen. A few of them, I haven't even heard of.

Anyway, I'll try to track down as many of the aforementioned titles that I can. I'm always looking for something new.

Even if it's being falsely marketed as a Scream title?! Outrageous!
