She's a loon. I don't know if a Shout deal is in the works, but I don't believe it at this point, regardless of those legal lawsuit records.
IIRC I read somewhere that Wade Williams is actually the one advising her, which may go some way explaining her approach.

She was the bane of the poster collecting community for years, too, as she would file protests against any auction for posters for any of her movies, claiming they could not be sold since she owned the rights. Back in the 00s it was a wellknown problem with eBay for example. I presume someone somewhere took her up on it, as it does not appear to be an issue anymore. I often see auctions for posters for 'I Was a Teenage Werewolf' and the others these days

I don't know whether Williams was formally advising her, but I have certainly seen him interviewed where he says that they are friends and he is sympathetic to her position and agrees with her strategy.

Some real decent deals in there. Unfortunately being in Canada with the exchange/shipping it becomes less appealing. Weird that some are so highly discounted and others are in the $20+ range, which isn't much of a deal at all. At first I thought maybe collector's vs. standard but that doesn't seem to be the case.

Just call me a strong defender of the free market system. I believe that retailers have a right to set the price they want to sell it at. Best Buy has determined their price is $19.99 and that would be fine with me. There is nothing wrong with being careful with your money. Especially when I have many of these on DVD. Fools like you are why schemes like these work to some degree.

This was one of my better hauls from a Scream Factory sale. I ended up snagging:

Bad Moon - $11.99
-Caged Fury - $5.99
-Dance Macbre - $5.99
-The Dark Half - $8.99
-The Guardian - $13.99
-Mans Best Friend - $14.99

It's also worth reminding folks that in the last sale or two titles have been removed as they've sold a certain amount, so if you were planning to purchase any of these titles it's smart to buy as soon as you can.

Bad Moon & Mans Best Friend are great buys for those prices.

Yep. Watched Bad Moon on Prime recently and it's now one of my favorite werewolf movies. Not quite up there with the Howling and definitely not Ginger Snaps but it's a solid, solid werewolf movie.

Yep, I know they pull titles before a sale is complete. I wanted to wait and see what Vs has up their sleeve this weekend but didn’t want to miss out on some of these deals.

I picked up:

Candyman: Farewell To The Flesh
Item# 826663155242 $9.99 USD 1 $9.99 USD
Dance Macabre
Item# 826663180954 $5.99 USD 1 $5.99 USD
Man's Best Friend
Item# 826663197341 $14.99 USD 1 $14.99 USD
Species II
Item# 826663165319 $9.99 USD 1 $9.99 USD
Tales From The Crypt Presents: Demon Knight [Collector's Edition]
Item# 826663162844 $16

I wanted to throw in THE GUARDIAN, THE CRUSH, and METAMORPHOSIS double. I’ll see how much I have leftover after this weekend.

I want to grab Psycho IV, but apparently the other Psycho sequels have decent prices on Amazon too. I've been holding out on picking them up in hopes that Scream Factory reissues them with new transfers. What is the likelihood of that happening?

I don't know that anyone will know the answer to that question but I'd lean toward it being unlikely. I feel like a more likely scenario is that at some point universal dumps the series on 4k in a set.

Bad Moon is one that I (excitedly) included in my order.

Shout's really cornered the market on the werewolf subgenre:

The Howling
Silver Bullet
Bad Moon
Dog Soldiers (as crummy as it is)
Ginger Snaps

(I suppose the more pedantic could include Trick 'r Treat). The only especially noteworthy ones they don't have are The Wolf Man ('41) and An American Werewolf in London.

How is Silver Bullet? I may have seen it years and years ago but don't remember. All the rest I've seen recently.

Silver Bullet was okay; I've only seen it once, and not by way of Scream's disc. It was a "light" werewolf movie, nothing great but entertaining enough. The juvenile cast makes it appealing to younger movie watchers while the subject matter still makes it accessible to adults.

I really had no plans of getting it but after ordering Bad Moon I threw it in my wish-list for the sake of being a "werewolf completist"; I'll grab it once I can get it for an acceptable price.

I remember wishing that the climax had gone on longer; they had the perfect setting, a dark Halloween night with a roaring fire, I would have preferred if they drew out the suspense a bit longer.

Silver Bullet is my least favorite film based on a Stephen King work. It felt way too juvenile and was just plain dull to me.
