Checking into the other announced titles, I'll be adding House of Wax to the 'day 1' purchases above. It's a Dark Castle film, which sold me immediately...and Paris Hilton is of minor interest

A Stranger is Watching & Chamber of Horrors look good, but don't grab me right away. Good candidates for a Target B2G1.

Brotherhood of the Wolf is just 'meh' to me....

So if they’re releasing so many Dark Castle movies, do we have a shot at The Reaping and Gothika?

Which means if they release it themselves, it might be a shitty BD-R. They should license it to Scream Factory. Give it to someone who cares.

Scream Factory had been releasing the Dark Castle films in release order, and Gothika should have been next. I imagine they chose to release House of Wax before Gothika because they thought it would sell better, but that we will see Gothika and The Reaping at some point.

Maybe they'll do Gothika, but I can't see them doing The Reaping tbh. Is there really much demand for a CE of that? I can't see either of these doing as well as House of Wax, House on Haunted Hill or Thirteen Ghosts. And with the Paramount and especially Warner vaults offering many possibilities too, there isn't really a need to resort to double-dipping on titles for the sake of it.

It looks to me that they are only releasing the ones that use the names of old Castle films, so The Reaping and Gothika may not be part of this reissue program.

Brotherhood of the Wolf
Eight Legged Freaks
House of Wax
The Dead Zone

A Stranger is Watching will make the next B2G1 Target sale with Eyes of a Stranger and He Knows You’re Alone.

I've come to the definite realization that I am no longer a collector...nothing in the new batch I want nor anything since they came back except for the Amazons/Barbarian Queen release. The old me would have found an excuse but now just focused on certain titles. I would do more Corman stuff like Firecracker and TNT Jackson though.

I honestly don’t have much interest in The Reaping, but I just mentioned it in response to the post I quoted. I’m also not a big fan of Gothika, so I’m glad that House of Wax is coming first. If they continue with more Dark Castle films, I could see them doing collector’s editions of Orphan and maybe Splice, but I agree that not much else really warrants a collector’s edition or double-dip.

Already own a copy of The Reaping. OK timewaster - don't know if I need a CE. Actually, all of these Dark Castle titles have perfectly good existing Blu-rays. I double dipped for a couple of them just to have a standalone version. I'm not too crazy about double feature Blu's unless they're really cheap grindhouse-type films.

After yesterday's batch of Warner announcements I thought I'd post an updated list of potential Warner titles (just those without a prior Blu-ray release in the US). I've not included anything pre-1950, since I suspect Warner Archive is now the most likely outlet for these. I have included HBO titles, though I expect these are probably out of bounds:

Anyone remember Gulag? I think it was made for cable (HBO, specifically). Great prison escape flick. I told myself I'd never visit Russia after watching this film
