I’m kinda hoping for Star Crash and The Nest steels... I feel like they’d go nicely with the other Corman sci-fi and mutant animals gone berserk steels.

Also Slumber Party Massacre 2 naturally

I could take or leave SPM 2, I think it’s pretty mediocre, but I absolutely love SPM 3. Scream or somebody else, I’d like to see SPM 2 and 3 rereleased individually.

I’m surprised they’ve stayed OOP so long considering everything else that’s gotten reissues on the format. Also, Sleepaway Camp 2/3 since I never picked them up and how about the Return to Sleepaway Camp (yes, I know it’s bad) while we’re at it.

Second Sight has you covered. This will be a UHD so no need for Scream Factory to revisit it.

On the topic of a potential ANOES set, one great idea (to me) is to include a Blu-ray 3D disc of Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare which gives you an option to watch either the finale or the WHOLE MOVIE in 3D.

I think it's more likely that Warner does a 4K UHD for the first film, on their own.

Is Shout releasing another steelbook?

Wouldn't be much different from the DVD. Freddy's Dead was only done in red/blue 3D.

I'd like to see a new 4K with this months announcements. Especially of a film they haven't released on standard Blu.

We've seen two so far, the last in January, and both of those utilized restorations already done elsewhere. Following this I reckon The Fog has a very good chance, but the rest will obviously depend on how well they've done for Scream. Halloween 2 and 3 seem strong candidates, but beyond those? I'm not sure, as they've let a few notable MGM properties go. As for the Friday films, it may well be that Paramount have hung onto the 4K rights. I believe someone said that Criterion were unable to release a UHD of The Elephant Man even if they wanted to, because Paramount did not grant them 4K rights.

For some reason I'm not feeling a Nightmare on Elm Street set is on the cards for this year, but we'll see (for a project that big I reckon something would have leaked by now, as with the Friday set). That said, there are many goodies from Warner Bros and even Paramount still on offer to deliver a memorable Halloween schedule. Hell, they might even surprise us with a key independent acquisition or two (come on Alligator).
The only reason I'm not sold on The Fog getting a UHD upgrade from SF is because of the large number of MGM titles they ended up losing, including some big ones (such as Escape From New York). A part of me is just still waiting for the other shoe to drop concerning the remaining MGM titles they've still got in print. That said, I'd still welcome it, especially if it ends up being an improvement on the Studio Canal release (which was admittedly the weakest of their John Carpenter UHDs).

I feel like Halloween 2 and 3 are the most likely candidates for any upcoming UHDs (unless Universal tries to play the "active franchise" card for those like they allegedly do for the Child's Play/Chucky films, even though that apparently didn't keep them from licensing out Tremors for a UHD).

And I also agree that IF an Elm Street box set is in the works, I wouldn't expect it this year. Not because of the lack of leaks, but because part of the reason we saw the drought we did from SF this past year (outside of the COVID concerns) was due to the amount of attention they were putting towards the Friday the 13th set. I'd imagine that an Elm Street set would get the same amount of attention as that set did, and seeing the activity the label has been doing as of late (combined with the pandemic still being an ongoing thing), I just feel like it's not in the cards just yet.

Yeah, I think another Halloween collection is even less likely now than it was when it came out before. Especially with Lionsgate being a main player with the franchise now, in addition to the question of whether Paramount can sublicense Miramax titles still being unanswered.

I could MAYBE see UHDs for 4 and 5 coming using the additional footage as extras (along with SF possibly doing UHDs for 2 and 3). But I'd be surprised to see it go further than that.

Which brings me to my next question. Do you think SF will offer two different sets for NOES? one that offers FvsJ and one that doesn't since some people might not want to double dip on that film?
No. SF didn't release two versions of the Fly box set because Return of the Fly was in the Vincent Price II box set. The only time they did do a "basic" and "deluxe" set at the same time was the Halloween box, and I'm pretty sure that was more Anchor Bay's call, seeing how all of Shout's subsequent box sets have been handled.

I'd doubt that the entire series of Freddy's Nightmares would be included. I could see it getting a separate release on DVD eventually, and I could maybe see some episodes being included as bonus features (namely any episodes that directly involve Krueger in the plot, like No More Mr. Nice Guy), but not the whole series.

But the film exists in standard 2D too, so it's just a matter of reconverting it to today's 3D conversions.

If they added a Stella Star/ Caroline Munro action figure with Starcrash, I'd lose my mind!

I finally got around to viewing the Machete Maidens Unleashed! doc and found it wildly entertaining. It reminded me that we still don't have a decent release of The Hot Box and The Woman Hunt. I'm surprised The Hot Box never got a decent release as it get spoken of as one the more well known of the WIP films made by Corman in the Philippines. I'd also love an upgrade of TNT Jackson and Firecracker. Help us out Shout Factory.

I've watched that documentary a few times though its been a few years since I last visited it. I remember really enjoying it as well and using it to guide my purchases/viewing habits for a bit. I need to revisit it.

I've seen the majority of the films covered in Machete Maidens Unleashed and the way they've used clips and added effects made those films a lot more entertaining than actually watching the films themselves. They certainly hit the high notes. I found it really well done and will revisit it. The trailer reel and special features were worthwhile as well. Those films have truly awesome trailers.

I was surprised SWEET SUGER wasn't covered, but I looked it up and it was filmed in Costa Rica. I wonder how many cool 70's WIPs were made in Costa Rica?

We are lucky to have the films we do, but it sure would be nice if the few missing titles got a release. It would be interesting if anyone has any info on why WOMAN HUNT and THE HOT BOX are unreleased while so many of their contemporaries got HD releases. I wonder if elements were lost or if these two have content even more objectional than others. I do fear that changing social norms might make these films unreleaseable in the near future.

It's not. Scream Factory said that this was an error that has been corrected, and titles starting next month should be back to normal.
