Scream Factory Blu-ray Discussion Thread

Did some early morning shopping before work. Not a bad sale, though alot of the 'big' titles available have marginal discounts. No matter though since I own most of them. I sifted around the bargain bin and came out with 11 titles, average price of $12.15 each. No tax. Free shipping. Thanks Shout!

It's definitely lackluster since Arrow took a chunk of my money yesterday with better deals and a larger selection. As of this morning there were ~160 titles? That's not a sale, that feels more like dumping overstock.

Yeah, the prices are comparable with Amazon price drops, with nothing low enough to even be an impulse buy. Pretty let down.

Disappointing prices on the newer releases. More money saved for the Vinegar Syndrome and Severin Black Friday sales, I guess.

I had hoped to finally get some of the Universal Horror Collections for a decent price, but only the latest is discounted, and then it is still over $40.

I think I'll pass.

Not too sad, though, as I just spend way more than I expected to do at Indicator's sale. And VS and Severin are coming up next month.

There is a lot of interest to me. Some prices are better than others.

Unlike others here, I am happy to not give my money to Amazon.

One day, they will be virtually the only option with such a mindset and then there will be no discounts.

Sale prices are pretty underwhelming. I looked up orders from the last 2 October sales and the prices are generally the same. Shame they couldn't at least do a set 50% off.

This limited sale actually has a decent selection of solid meat-and-potatoes choices, but I already have most of what I wanted from these and I have other things I want to pick up during the Indicator sale.

I think the point is the discounts on a lot of titles suck by 1st party sale standards from other labels. Like, most of the CE ones are like "thing that normally sells for ~23 dollars is now ~18." Arrow's current sale, on the other hand, is almost entirely stuff that normally is priced around 28 being 15.

There's a scattered number of their releases I'm vaguely interested in (Serpent and the Rainbow, Event Horizon, The Blob, etc), but a "sale price" of 21 dollars on them is not going to cut it. I think the main attraction of this sale is the "Deep Cuts" section. I'm going to look up some of them that I'm not familiar with. I'm definitely willing to take a chance on some stuff I wouldn't have bought otherwise when it's 9.99. But, right now, the only movie I was actually looking for a discount on that has a good one is Ghost Story. And that won't be good if I don't find some other stuff to hit the free shipping!

I found a bunch of curiosities I either hadn't heard of or hadn't considered at higher prices. The only CE I ended up getting was Village of the Damned, which at 13.78 is actually a reasonable discount if you have free shipping.
