I generally don't care for most newly commissioned artwork, in many instances the original poster is iconic and really tough to beat. These 4K releases with OG artwork just feel "right" to me. I'm glad Scream Factory seem to have embraced this practice for what will likely be the last time I upgrade these films.

When I spoke before about balance, this is very much the perfect month in that regard:

2 4K upgrades of titles previously released by SF
1 4K upgrade of a big WB title new to the label
1 Blu of a long OOP Paramount title
3 new-to-Blu WB titles
A box set containing 7 new-to-Blu WB titles

I've got a feeling October is going to be 4K upgrade heavy, but if we get a month like this every other month I'll be delighted.

I was expecting the Night of the Demons films and Pumpkinhead but I guess those are coming at some point. This lineup will do VERY nicely, though. First time in a LONG time I actually want all the titles in the batch badly. Shout has been pumping out excellent 4Ks (very impressed with Motel Hell(o) and Creepshow) so any reservations about upgrades I have is negated by the choice of titles and PQ.

In for the Irwin Allen set and Night of the Comet for sure. I'm hoping they do a poster and maybe even alt art slipcover for Night/Comet like they just did with Creepshow!

Surprisingly, just Natural Born Killers for me out of that pile. That being said, I agree with BarnDoor about the balance. It's a solid slate of releases.

Totally agree, BD. I've been banging the drum for a while about the right balance. I love a good 4K upgrade as much as the next guy, but re-releases sure do get boring. A perfect mix like this is a good thing for every single collector.

Thanks. Crazy they never cancelled such a order. Interesting about it being for October too, but perhaps that explains why it was the only one without cover art among the September leaks.

When the "leaks" were first mentioned, I was slightly happy and frustrated at the same time. Frustrated that most of the titles were all 4K upgrades of pretty good Blu-ray releases, but also slightly relieved that I could take a slight break as I've been buying way too many movies.

Now that we actually know what's coming, I have the exact opposite problem. Happy that there are a TON of films coming that I want, but now worried about when the world am I going to find time to watch them all.

I'm in for the Irwin set. I own the WAC DVDs of My Demon Lover and The Pack. Not sure I will need to upgrade. That My Bloody Valentine UHD looks nice, and Night of the Comets might be an upgrade in my future.

I agree. I'm not 4K capable, and so obviously new-to-blu is of much more interest to me. And I love more catalog things to get announced, too, rather than another release of something that's already been on blu several times.

I am double dipping here for "Natural Born Killers", but the Irwin Allen set and "The Pack" are things that are right up my alley (I love practically anything 70s) and are exactly the kinds of things I get excited about.

Another reason we movie collectors will be so much poorer without the likes of Walt and Bill around, anymore. They always came totally out of left field with often the most delightful treasures. RIP.
