They forgot Spider-man 3, X-Men 3, and Superman returns. Don't agree with LOEOG and Blade trinity needs a couple of tweaks to make it better.

Punisher : War Zone far and away the worst. Punishers turtleneck was hilarious.

Some of the movies being mentioned are not great but they are no where near the worst of all-time. I would say Batman & Robin is the worst comic book movie of all-time, though the Punisher from a few years ago is also a joke.

I don't agree with

Howard the Duck

Judge Dredd

Steel

The Crow: City of Angels

TMNT 2

I think all of these are great movies.

The simple sad fact is that there is more BAD super-hero movies then good. But the trend does seem to be shifting the other way. Thankfully.

Compared to some of the movies on this list, these movies could be oscar worth. Too bad they have Howard the Duck on here, I really love this movie and I am glad to see Im not the only one. I agree with TMNT 2, but they need to include part 3 as well.

I guess everyone has different taste. I thought that V for Vendetta was one of the better ones (Although it was different from the graphic novel).

I also likedthe cheesy Captain America movie.

My vote for worst goes to Punisher (the 2nd one), Steel (Shaq isn't intelligent enough to built something out of Legos much less a suit of armor), and Ang Lee's Hulk movie.

Yes, with typical Yahoo!Movies restraint and perspective, it IS only on there for the Vanilla Ice scene.

(Which, to be fair, was the only entertaining scene in the movie--This was back in the pioneer days when New Line didn't expect to have a hit, was giggly-surprised when anything actually merited a sequel, and rushed them into production without an actual script...
TMNT2 isn't bad-bad, but it's not as pop-cool as the first one, and doesn't have the benefit of an interesting concept like the third one; it's just, y'know, there. In between.)

As for the others, I just don't have as much of a murderous vendetta against "League of Extraordinary Gentlemen" , saw "Tank Girl" at a film festival (and it was a good version of what the print comic was, even if nobody had ever heard of it), and watched "Ghost Rider" on Blu with no ill effects whatsoever--
As for Elektra and Catwoman, however, yes: Those are evil.

Superman IV and Captain America both suffered from Golan/Globus trying to go A-picture mainstream, Steel suffered from Warner trying to market DC without comic canon (he's supposed to be a Superman offshoot), and ahem...a certain less-than-fantastic four, conspicuous by their absence(s)?

HtD singlehandedly defined the "Marvel Curse", back in the Lou Ferrigno-Hulk days when producers just didn't know what Marvel comics to make or how to make them--
On paper, it seemed like Marvel's "satirical" self-parody anime would make a funny counter-culturey 80's comedy with the right special effects...Unfortunately, even if "satirical" cult-comics ever did work in the movies (hey, I liked "Mystery Men" and "The Mask"!), you sure as heck DON'T give them to the Temple of Doom screenwriters to direct quality comedy, just because you're George Lucas and you're still grateful for "American Graffiti".

(Critics at the time put the finger on the one scene that will be firebranded on our memory:
Howard going to the big-city employment agency...headed by a mouthy-black-female agent...and...no, wait for it...she thinks Howard's trying to get out of a job...because he's wearing a COSTUME! )

my vote's definitely in for batman & robin and catwoman. i dont think anything else even comes close. superman IV may have sucked but at least it still starred christopher reeve, margot kidder, gene hackman, etc.

While many of you have made so very good points on which movie is the worst comic book adaptation ever, I think that this one is a probably the winner

Roger Corman's The Fantastic Four

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Fantastic_Four_(film)

And I quote "In a list of the "50 Top Comic Movies of All Time (...and Some So Bad You've Just Got to See Them)," Wizard Magazine ranked this film higher than Batman & Robin, Steel, Virus and Red Sonja, all of which were released in theatres."
