What would you give it out of 10? I thought it was pretty good but in some places it was just dumb. Pretty good overall though, 7/10.

Not according to the majority of critics (only 16% and is the second worst-reviewed "Punisher" adaptation only behind the original 1990 film which only has a 14% rating).

For what it is I'd probably give it an 8. There were a couple of moments that kind of earned a roll of the eyes, but overall I thought it really captured the look and feel the comic and the character. REALLY hoping for an uncut Blu-ray, if an uncut version exists.

Well, I personally find quite a number of them to be right on the money a good portion of the time.

Punisher was no more than a 4/10

There are some good bits in the movie. A lot of the Punisher's kills are pretty awesome. That bit with the missile launcher was especially hilarious. My favorite bit was what he does to the guy sitting there that the cop is trying to arrest: "Aw, goddammit Frank!!" If you saw it you know what I mean.

But in my opinion, Jigsaw and his stupid psycho brother were two of the lamest, corniest villians I've ever seen in a movie. You thought Travolta was hammy? Wait'll you see these guys. Any time they were given screen time (which is quite a bit) would completely throw me out of the movie. Most of the other characters like Soap and Micro were pretty much useless characters that didn't contribute anything to the story.
And as for the "story," lets just say that if the guy who wrote the screenplay isn't in 8th grade, he should be banned from writing a movie ever again. I can definitely see why Tom Jane dropped out of this: his Punisher movie was greatly flawed, but its Oscar material compared to this one. Hell, the Dolph Lundgren movie too.
