Default just ordered sanyo PLV-Z3000 did I make the right choice?

just ordered the sanyo PLV-Z3000, with ebay coupon and rebate got a good deal, but is the image quality good? is it a worthwhile projector? is it in the Epson 6500 / AE3000U class?

It is competitive with the high contrast LCD projectors you've mentioned, although it is not as accurate as the Epson or the Panasonic, don't worry, It is still a better performer than some of the lower priced LCD projectors and an excellent value. I'm not a fan of LCD technology though (It is nothing performance related), DLP is a bit more reliable (No color shift or red tint on white, higher ANSI contrast), but LCDs are doing better and are performing better.

i got offered a great deal on the z3000 for slightly under 2k with the rebate and i too have the thoughts of if it's any good compared to epson and panny. It'll be my first one but the epson is more $$ still to buy it.

EXCELLENT PRICE

It was my second choice. I went with the Panny. I'm stupid-happy with the Panny, but I'm sure the Sanyo is excellent. I was this >< close to buying it.

Congrats Clint, if this is your first projector, get ready for the jaw-dropper of the century. You will be hooked for life and regular TV's will seem the size of postage stamps.

If you have received and got it up and running Clint, give us feedback on how your wonderful new purchase is doing. I see the Sanyo love is not so bright online from what i've been reading lately but it is an affordable piece and compares to the other big two. The price i got emailed back for it was a surprise since the dealer went the distance for me and checked what the current price is online for it and matched prices. plus the 200 dollar rebate which makes it even more wonderful. so tempting and i might do it Hope to hear from ya clint.

OP, make sure you do a calibration, the difference seems to become more noticable on larger screens to me.
