Default CNET: Top 25 "Must Have" Blu-ray Discs!

I think I have like 20 out of the 25 listed. And for the record, I don't necessarily agree with all of their picks, and I suspect mnay of you won't either.

Here's the link:

Dont agree either. I see a couple "must haves", a few "would be nice to have", and a few "meh". Heck, no one will ever totally agree with lists like these.

I agree with a few of those although it's a shame they left off The godfather collection and the classic bonds, but i don't think restoration was a category in making the list.

That said i would have added Incredible Hulk to the list, i always put on the Hulk vs. Abomination fight of the college campus hulk out to show off my system

Actually have a five of these on this list, which kind of surprised me because I only have about 20 blu's right now. No Country For Old Men will be the next one I plan on picking up which I see is on the list, can't wait to see what all the fuss is about.

Here's the list for those to lazy to click thru the link:
1 Baraka
2 Blackhawk Down
3 Blade Runner
4 Bolt
5 Casablanca
6 Casino Royale (SE)
7 The Dark Knight
8 How The West Was Won
9 Ironman
10 Live Free or Die Hard
11 Mad Men
12 Master & Commander
13 No Country For Old Men
14 POTC: COTBP
15 Planet Earth
16 The Police: Certifiable
17 Ratatouille
18 Rescue Dawn
19 Ronin
20 Sunshine
21 300 (Digibook)
22 Transformers
23 Tropic Thunder
24 Wall-E
25 Youth Without Youth

I've got 12 of them, myself... I don't know why Ronin is on there. The blurb on the website only talks about the car chase - nothing about the blu-ray quality. And last time I checked Casablanca was ridiculously over-priced, so that won't be added to my collection any time soon...

Wow, they only have 9 of the ones I own on their list.

Oh well, not every online list of "greatest blu-rays ever" can be perfect!!

Despite my modest BD collection at this point, I was surprised that I had 14 on their list.

Of course, I too believe that such lists are quite subjective.

I have about 20 of them but i agree its all subjective. The matrix, Godfather and BOB should make anyones top 25 on merit alone, with no bias on how you like the movie.

I have 10 of them. IMO this list is a little questionable, there were several strange picks.

When we get closer to November-December, this is what I would like to see on Blu-ray.com:

Each of the Blu-ray.com official reviewers give their top picks of the year and then a people's choice top 10 of the year. That is strictly for 2009 releases. It's one thing for IGN, CNET and others to do their top 25 but because this forum is quite diverse, it would be great to start doing this. Heck, we can even attempt the best releases for the first half of 2009. But it would have to be a collaborative effort.
