Default Problem

I ordered a blu-ray drive for document storage. The problem is the computer i plan on installing it in has a mini tower....and the disk drive physically will not fit. Do I have any options or do I need to return this and order an external drive?

the simple thing to do is to return it and get and external drive and not go through a lot of expense in trying to get the wrong thing to work. i recommend that you read the info on any external drive carefully to make sure ahead of time that this one will work properly with your pc to not fall into the same hole again. a nice ESATA (if your pc supprots it) would be best, followed by a USB 2.0. The advantage of the USB drive would be you can take it with you from pc to pc.

best of luck.

You can also get an external enclosure for a 5.25" drive. It is cheaper this way. As of now, to my knowledge, there are no external drives nor enclosures that support eSATA but USB 2.0 should be fine. Here is a case that I would suggest.

Yes, a number of companies offer recorders with eSATA: http://www.emedialive.com/articles/r...leid=11425#ixd

eSATA 5.25" enclosures are also available. For example: http://www.startech.com/item/SAT5210...Enclosure.aspx
http://www.vantecusa.com/front/product/view_detail/381

etc.

Thought so. I knew that eSATA was popular with 3.5" enclosures and was suprised to find no selection onf 5.25" with eSATA. Thanks for the links.
