Simple question: out of all of your Blus, most movies are by which director?
To the best of my knowledge, mine is Kubrick. I own Full Metal Jacket, 2001, Dr. Strangelove, and one of my all-time favorites, A Clockwork Orange. I only have 60some movies in my collection, so I'm sure those with 200+ will be sure to have some serious overlap in directors. |

For DVD: 27 Spielberg DVDs (plus Close Encounters on Blu; multiples for JP1 & 2 at the moment tho).
For blus... I dunno really, if I include HD DVD its probably Kubrick here too. Last edited by Rhylliam; 07-29-2009 at 05:04 PM. |

After a quick scan I'd say Tarantino. Kill Bill 1 and 2, Death Proof, Reservoir Dogs plus a 'guest director' on Sin City. Just edges out Michael Bay who I believe directed 4 of my Blu (The Rock, The Island, Pearl Harbour and Transformers) and the Wachowski Brothers (Matrix trilogy and Speed Racer). Plus others on 3 and 2.

6 each for Stanley Kubrick and Clint Eastwood, and 5 for Francis Ford Coppola. I do love those directors, don't get me wrong, but I have a feeling the leaders of the pack would be slightly different if more movies were available on Blu-ray. Pretty sure David Cronenberg would be right at the top.

I'm a sucker for these topics (almost posted in that pointless digital copy one), but I must say this is one of the best so far.
I think Stanley Kubrick wins with four: 2001 A Space Odyssey, Clockwork Orange, Dr. Strangelove and The Shining. Not to mention I'll probably get Eyes Wide Shut if I can't manage to remove it from my head (so you can consider it already bought) and I've yet to watch a bunch from him. I've got only three from George A. Romero, because Night of the Living Dead and Martin are not out yet. And Land of the Dead sucked. Also three from Christopher Noland, and I'll be buying The Dark Knight soon. Three from Tim Burton, plus his produced Nightmare Before Christmas, and three from John McTiernan. Two from Sydney Lumet (can't wait for 12 Angry Men), two from M. Night Shyamalan... And Darren Aronofsky is one I'm eager to get more of. Only have The Wrestler but will buy Requiem for a Dream on day 1 and I don't know how much longer I can hold out for a price drop on The Fountain. |
