Ditto.

Hitchcock was the father of modern film in almost every facet: writing, photography, etc. Basically the inventor of the screen actor (as opposed to a filmed stage-actor performance), and the inventor of sound design. He is the most imitated director ever.

P. Jackson is the greatest living director, so long as he keeps together the team of Walsh as his screenwriter and Taylor as his art director.

Spielberg has gone down hill lately.

Name anything in the last 5 years that he's done that's been good. Munich is the only one that's questionable if it's good or not, everything else {yes including Indy 4} has been shite.

Minority Report (whether or not it was done in the last 5 years though I am not sure) was a very smart/good film. Catch Me if you Can was excellent.
