Not if Merrill Lynch has no idea about what they are talking about.
psinext has a great rebuttal to the recent Merrill Lynch report. Starting with its lack of professionalism (they miscounted their bill of materials, repeatedly mentioning $900 even though it adds up to $800) through to cell chip costs, and to other items. http://psinext.e-mpire.com/index.php...d71322c09662b3 Sony also says different. http://www.gameshout.com/news/022006/article3312.htm |

Hey, I still think they are wrong. Sure they got the whole "no spring release" thing right but that wasnt a hard guess to get right. But, they had no idea Sony would go for a World wide release, no clue what so ever. Not to mention their whole $900 price tag which theres no way it will happen. I'm sorry, I may not agree with everything Sony does but I believe in them and Blu-ray and what they are trying to give us. Sure they are in it to make money but they also give us some awesome products and technology. They have worked hard to prove themselves and have done so in every industry they enter, movies, music, Electronics, Computers ect... I wont bash them for taking their time to get it right or for charging more for putting more into it than their competitor. I expect the best no matter the cost, I dont want to settle for cheap and wont if I have the choice. You know what happens when you settle for second best? Your stuck with second best and have no room to fuss when you discover it isnt the best. That said, I also dont like being taken, I expect my purchases to feel like quality and so far every Sony product I have ever bought (and there have been many) has felt well made and has been long lasting. I dont expect that will change with Blu-ray or PS3. So bring it on. I just wish they would make and sell products with their labels on them, Like PS2, PS3 and Blu-ray tshirts, jackets and Ballcaps. I love that stuff. I still have a Playstation light I was given from a Kb toys that I worked at when it first came out, now its hanging in my sons room. Oh well, at least I can get free stuff like that by preordering certain games.
